John Wick prequel series The Continental gets a very ’70s teaser trailer

Until morale improves, the John Wick franchise will continue to dish out beatings – this time in the ’70s. Our first look at the prequel miniseries The Continental: From the World of John Wick is here, and it’s suitably groovy.

Set to “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer, the teaser is big on style and light on content, with lots of weapons, a katana, and lots of suits.

Billed as a three part ‘event’, The Continental will, according to the official Peacock synopsis, “explore the origins behind the iconic hotel-for-killers centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he is swept into the infernal landscape of New 1970s York City to face a past he thought he had left behind.”

The series stars Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott, who steps out of the movies in Ian McShane’s shoes decades his junior, before the unflappable hotelier became New York’s killer king. John Wick. So much for all we know The Continental is that it will describe Winston’s attempt to seize the hotel of the same name. The role other cast members have to play, such as Mel Gibson’s Cormac or Mishel Prada (from the excellent Starz series vida) KD — remains a mystery.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick premieres on Peacock in September.
