John Travolta’s daughter Ella releases song in honor of her late mom Kelly Preston
Ella Travolta gave her father a touching gift on Friday in honor of his late wife Kelly Preston’s 33rd wedding anniversary.
The 24-year-old singer, who attended the Olympic Games in Paris with her father John Travolta (70), debuted with a new song in honor of her parents.
“This is a very special day as Ella releases her new single called “Little bird,” the actor wrote.
“This song and video are a tribute to her mom, and it also happens to be my wedding anniversary with Kelly. It’s one of the songs on her upcoming album that I helped produce – enjoy!” the proud papa revealed.
On Thursday, Ella updated her fans on the new release, which will appear on her upcoming EP Colors of Love.

“‘Little bird’ is a song about a beautiful time in my life. I’ve been thinking about what I wanted this song to be for the last two years, but it was written at night,” the singer and songwriter explained.
“This song is about celebrating life,” she added, closing the post with the date 09.06.24.
Kelly Preston passed away in July 2020 from breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, daughter and youngest son Benjamin, who turns 14 in November.
The music video for Little Bird features home videos of the family, including John and Kelly’s eldest son, Jett, who died at age 16 while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas.
The teenager suffered an epileptic seizure and hit his head on a bathtub.
In an interview with Peoplethe Poison Rose actress explained that Little Bird was the last song she wrote for the album.
“I grew up very much in the public eye. And that brings a lot of attention, especially when you lose someone,” she claimed. “There’s definitely the natural support and global support that comes with that.”
“But then there can also be a natural input and expectation of how you should feel, or how people assume you feel, or how other people feel, that gets added into it as well,” she explained.

The music video for the song features home videos of family life before Kelly’s death from breast cancer in July 2020.
Ella explained her process, writing: ‘”Little bird” is a song about a beautiful time in my life. I’ve been thinking about what I wanted this song to be for the last two years, but it was written at night’
The singer and songwriter called the song, which was the last she wrote for her new album, Colors of Love, “a celebration of life.”
‘[Little Bird is] “It’s about holding on to the pure relationships that you have with people that you’ve lost, and really listening to yourself and being true to the relationship with that person,” she explained.
“It’s kind of like the point of view of a mother bird talking to a baby bird and not being bothered by it, because your instincts were there all along.”
“It had been a few years since my mom passed away, so I was able to look at the whole situation, step back from it, and figure out what I wanted to communicate with it, what I wanted to communicate to her, and what I was feeling in general,” she said of the songwriting process.

Famous family friends weighed in on the new song. Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg responded with praying hands, heart, shooting star and crown emojis. General Hospital star Finola Hughes wrote, “Congratulations, a beautiful thing.”
“So that’s what I was doing, and that completed the EP and it felt really good.”
Well-known friends of the family supported the new release and its special significance.
Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg responded with praying hands, a heart, a shooting star and crown emojis.
Author Loren Ridinger said of the song, “It’s spectacular. Beautiful.”
General Hospital star Finola Hughes wrote: “Congratulations, it’s a beautiful thing.”
