John Stamos promises to ‘keep loving’ while paying tribute to Bob Saget on anniversary of his death

John Stamos marked the one-year anniversary of his friend Bob Saget’s passing, at the age of 65, with an emotional tribute to his late co-star on Instagram.

On Monday, the 59-year-old actor, best known for playing Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom Full House alongside Saget for eight years, shared footage of them goofing around on the set of his hit series.

On the recording, Stamos can be heard saying, ‘We’ll never have another show like this,’ before his friend chimes in: ‘My agent told me I’m never going to have another show again!’

“We really love each other… There hasn’t been a single fight in six years, we really get along, I look forward to seeing you all,” Stamos marveled.

The You star went on to caption the video with a quote from Charlie Chaplin, which read: “A day without laughing is a day wasted.”

‘Sometimes it’s hard Bob without you, but we’ll try. We will continue to love each other and we will continue to hold each other as you want us to, ”he continued.

The father-of-one continued: “I can’t believe it’s been a year, time flies when you’re grieving I guess.”

His comments section was flooded with loving comments from many of his more than 3.8 million Instagram followers, his wife Caitlin McHugh, and former Full House co-stars.

“I love you so much,” his on-screen niece Jodie Sweetin wrote below Stamos’s post, while Candace Cameron Bure wrote: “Isn’t this the truth?”

Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, 43, also marked the anniversary of his death on social media.

Her husband died of head trauma at The Ritz-Carlton, Orlando in Florida after he apparently hit the back of his head on something.

His death shocked his global community of fans, not to mention his family, who said they were happier than ever when he died.

‘One year. Our hearts are so heavy. How could I not have talked to or seen my beloved husband in a whole year?’ she wrote on Instagram.

Kelly said she accepted the “reality” of his death, but “it still seems unreal when I see photos or videos of him so full of life.”

She put the Ben Folds song, The Luckiest, below the video, explaining that it was one of Bob’s favorite songs, and the song wrapped up her feelings.

“But there is one thing that I carry with me every day that makes this survive,” he continued. ‘I AM THE LUCKIEST. I am the luckiest person I have to be his wife. I am the luckiest to be able to live with her warmth, her laughter, her brilliance and her love.’

In an essay for People, Kelly wrote: “Complicated, brilliant, compassionate, hilarious, neurotic, opinionated, loving, lovable, complex, determined, loyal and sweet.” She taught me a lot about how to be a better person, how to love ourselves and others more fully.’

She also wrote about the support she received from Bob’s daughters Aubrey, 36, Lara, 33, and Jennifer, 30, in dealing with the pain of their loss, telling the outlet that they were “true miracles and angels. and the gratitude I have that we have each other is immeasurable.

Former Full House co-stars Dave Coulier, 63, and Candace Cameron Bure, 43, also posted their own tributes.

Dave wrote about how they hit it off the first time they met and became brothers.

Candace posted a throwback photo, writing that she can now revisit the good old days with her TV dad. I stayed up for hours watching videos of Bob on my phone. Videos I couldn’t watch a year ago because it hurt too much.

“Last night they made me laugh,” he explained. ‘They comforted me and warmed my heart. I watched them over and over again and laughed so hard. I miss him dearly and am grateful that he has been my friend for so many years. I love you Bob❤️.’

They both ended their posts by encouraging readers to ‘hug each other… like Bob’.
