John Stamos and wife Caitlin vow to rebuild her hometown of Atladena amid LA fire devastation
John Stamos and his wife Caitlin Stamos are committed to rebuilding Los Angeles’ Altadena neighborhood after weeks of firestorms in the city.
Speak with AND this week, the couple, who have been married for almost seven years, discussed how they have contributed to recovery efforts in the 38-year-old actress and writer’s hometown.
“I grew up in Altadena, just down the street. This is my birthplace; this is the school I went to; this is the church I went to until I was 18,” Caitlin told the outlet.
Although she and 61-year-old John now live elsewhere, she emphasized the importance of preserving the area’s historically black community.
‘It is so nice to see and know that we are all committed to ensuring that these people continue to own their homes.
“One of the most heartbreaking things for me is when these people end up selling to developers and ultimately not having enough money to ever buy a home in California again,” the model pointed out.

She vowed, “I’m going to work very hard to keep these people in this city, to keep the charm of this city.”
And the mum-of-one, who shares six-year-old son Billy with John, reflected: ‘I grew up in the most diverse, beautiful city and I want it to stay that way.’
Stamos emphasized, “So many people lost their small businesses and their homes at the same time. So many children have lost their schools and their homes, so I want to rebuild this city so that it is as resilient and beautiful as the people who live here.”
The devastation in Southern California began to unfold on the morning of January 7, when the combination of heavy winds and lack of rain created the perfect conditions for a wildfire.
The Eaton Fire has burned more than 14,000 acres, while the Palisades Fire has scorched nearly 24,000 acres.
“These fires have ruined the illusion of permanence,” the former Full House star said.
And he praised his wife’s efforts, saying: ‘I am the happiest man in the world. I’m so proud of her.’
‘We are all human. We’re all people who would like to have a roof over our heads and clothes on our backs,” Caitlin chimed in.
