John Obi Mikel has joked that Chelsea should ‘bring back’ some of the club’s retired stars.
The former Blues midfielder was asked to give his opinion on the club’s current problems and attempted to clarify the situation.
The Blues have won just one of their first four games and Mikel saw the funny side.
According to Hayters TV, he joked: ‘They have to bring us back, I’m joking.
However, the former Chelsea star then insisted that the club would be fine as long as the players were ‘together’.
Mikel had a long spell at Chelsea and stayed at Stamford Bridge until 2017
The Nigerian added: “They are fine, they will be fine. I think the club is clearly going through a huge transition.
‘So we have to give them time. There are a lot of good, fantastic young players.
“We have to give them time, we have to make sure they get time to work on the training pitch and work together as a team.
“Once we can do that, I think we’ll start competing again, but it’s going to take some time.”
