John Ibrahim cuts a casual figure as he is spotted out in Double Bay
John Ibrahim makes a casual impression as he steps into Sydney’s Double Bay – after his plans to build apartments in the heart of King’s Cross were revealed
John Ibrahim traded his beloved Kings Cross for Double Bay on Friday when he stepped outside for a leisurely stroll.
The 54-year-old former nightclub identity was spotted strolling through a car park in Sydney’s posh suburb, wearing a demure all-black ensemble.
He was wearing a T-shirt, skinny jeans, a baseball cap and sneakers, and tucked his cell phone into his front pocket.
John was last seen at the red carpet premiere of Last King of The Cross, the Paramount+ series based on his autobiography of the same name.
Reports last month revealed that John has set his sights on a new venture: building apartments in the heart of Kings Cross.

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that the former nightclub mogul is proposing a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of historic Kings Cross terraces into residential apartments.
Ibrahim, operating under his company, Cantabri Pty Ltd, plans to partially demolish and restore the historic properties on Bayswater Road in Potts Point, which used to house nightclubs and bars.
The $19.7 million proposal submitted to the City of Sydney includes 22 apartments, along with a bar, restaurant and retail space on the site of the iconic Bayswater Brasserie and Crane Bar.

These locations were owned by Ibrahim’s old friend Sarah Budge.
The redevelopment site also includes a former pole dance venue that has later been converted into The Lincoln nightclub.
Ibrahim’s company envisions the space as a luxurious apartment complex with common areas and roof terraces.

The development application, open for public viewing until April 5, recognizes that some of the terraces on the site are Grade II listed and that the site is within the Potts Point Heritage Conservation Area.
Despite this, Potts Point and Kings Cross Heritage Society president Andrew Woodhouse have criticized the building plans as ‘misconceived’ and ‘dollar driven’.
Woodhouse is urging the council to demand amendments to the proposal to ensure the preservation of the area’s heritage.
