John Fetterman makes stunning claim about Donald Trump as he dismisses Democrats who call him ‘fascist’
Democrat Senator John Fetterman has made a stunning claim about his party’s message to Donald Trump, defending the former president’s voters and dismissing claims that he is a “fascist.”
The senator from Pennsylvania made this known ABC’s ‘This Week’ that he knows many Trump voters in his state well, and that their motivations for supporting the Republican candidate are not as sinister as they seem.
“I never believed it was about fascism… it’s not a word I would use,” Fetterman stated on the Sunday morning show when addressing Vice President Kamala Harris’ repeated attacks on the former president.
“A lot of Democrats, especially in my state that I know, and I happen to like people who voted for Trump and they’re not fascists,” he continued.
The progressive Democrat suggested that Trump’s success came from convincing voters that he would “protect and project my version of the American way of life.”
“I think people are going to decide who is the candidate who is going to protect and project my version of the American way of life. And that’s what happened,” he said.
The senator even praised Trump’s political resilience, especially after the January 6 assassination attempt.
Progressive Democrat John Fetterman has made a stunning claim about his party’s message to Donald Trump, defending the former president’s voters and rejecting claims that he is a “fascist.”
The Pennsylvania senator revealed on ABC’s ‘This Week’ that he knows and loves “a lot of Democrats in his state” who voted for Trump and insisted they are not fascists
“After you survived a murder, you were literally shot in the head… you had the presence of mind to respond: fight, fight, fight.”
“That is a political talent that cannot be denied,” he said.
This comes a month after Senator Fetterman faced backlash after cursing thousands of voters in his home state after Republican Dave McCormick was declared the winner of the Keystone State’s razor-thin Senate race by the Associated Press.
McCormick, the former CEO of Bridgewater Associates – one of the largest hedge funds in the world – stunningly put Casey’s seat in red for three terms.
Democrat Fetterman posted on X about that Senate race, demanding that voters be patient as ballots are still being counted. Then he viciously attacked Green Party voters.
“Pennsylvania is going to count every last vote,” he posted. “That’s not controversial, that’s the law.”
“The Greens’ votes also help elect the Republican Party,” Fetterman’s post continued, with a photo of the party’s candidate.
