The family of John Farnham have given an encouraging update on the music legend’s battle with cancer.
On Friday, the sons of the You’re The Voice hitmaker announced that their father is “remaining positive” after having a cancerous tumor removed from his mouth in 2022.
The chart-topper was declared cancer-free last August and made a huge impression on his fans earlier this year when he wedding of his eldest son, Rob, and his new bride Melissa.
“He’s doing really well,” Rob, 44, said during an appearance alongside his brother James, 36, on Seven’s Sunrise.
“Every day is a step forward, and that goes for everyone with cancer,” he said.
“And he just has to keep going and stay positive and, you know, keep moving.”
At one point during the segment, Rob appeared moved when Sunrise shared a photo with viewers of John at his son’s wedding in June.
The photo, which shows a smiling John standing next to his son in his wedding dress, went viral after Rob shared the photo on his Instagram shortly after the wedding.

The family was inundated with warm responses from fans.
“I’m glad everyone received it so well,” Rob said on the morning show.
Elsewhere in the chat, James said his father was “in awe” when he saw superstar Celine Dion honour him in her recent Prime Video documentary I Am: Celine Dion.
John’s sons also revealed that they have signed up as ambassadors for the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day fundraiser, which takes place next Thursday, August 22.

Sadly, it is unlikely that John will ever be able to perform again after undergoing major surgery to remove the tumor from his mouth.
The surgery, which was performed by 26 medical staff, also removed a large portion of his jaw. Twelve months after the operation, Farnham announced that he was cancer-free.

He only discovered he had cancer in his mouth after his wife Jill insisted he take him to the doctor for a check-up because he had a persistent sore in his mouth.
Mauboy and Sebastian, who have both openly expressed their admiration for Farnham, are expected to deliver powerful and emotional performances.
