Two years ago he was diagnosed with cancer.
Australian music legend John Farnham, 75, now appears to be well on his way to recovery, thanks in part to an outpouring of love from his fans.
And among the sympathizers who left messages of support were Tom Jones, 84, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, 47
Jim Farnham, 36, discussed the moving message of support for the beloved You’re the Voice hitmaker on Saturday.
“My mum gets voice messages from Chris Martin from Coldplay and Tom Jones, which is really funny, to hear how my dad is doing,” he told the Herald Sun.
John was declared cancer-free last August and earlier this year he surprised fans when he attended the wedding of his eldest son, Rob, 44, and his new bride Melissa.
Elsewhere in the chat, Jim shared that it was his father’s wish to share regular updates with his followers during his illness as a tribute to his fans.
“There are a lot of people who love Dad and I don’t blame them. Some would consider him an icon, I certainly would, and we understand that.

“He always said that if people don’t care about something anymore, or don’t want an autograph or a photo, that’s a big red flag. That people still care about something baffles him,” he added.
“He’s a very humble man and he’s very grateful for the career he’s had and the people who have supported him.”
This came after Jim and Rob gave an encouraging update on their father’s recovery.
They announced that their father remained “positive” after having a cancerous tumor removed from his mouth in 2022.

“He’s doing really well,” Rob said during an appearance with his brother James on Seven’s Sunrise.
“Every day is a step forward, and that goes for everyone with cancer,” he said.
“And he just has to keep going and stay positive and, you know, keep moving.”
At one point during the segment, Rob appeared moved when Sunrise shared a photo with viewers of John at his son’s wedding in June.
The photo, which shows a smiling John standing next to his son in his wedding dress, went viral after Rob shared the photo on his Instagram shortly after the wedding.
John’s sons also announced that they have signed up as ambassadors for the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day.
The brothers shared intimate details about their father’s health struggles on Instagram ahead of the fundraiser.
“So it started with a sore in his mouth and we found out it was cancer. It was a pretty brutal time for all of us,” Rob said in a video.
John Farnham’s sons James (L) and Rob (R) have given an encouraging update on the music legend’s battle with cancer. Appearing on Seven’s Sunrise, the couple said the You’re The Voice star was doing “well” and “staying positive” almost a year after he was declared cancer-free.
Sadly, it is unlikely John will ever be able to perform again after undergoing marathon surgery in 2022 to remove the tumor from his mouth
James also appeared and said that initiatives like Daffodil Day had played a crucial role in his father’s survival.
“Our father wouldn’t be here without cancer research and that’s why days like Daffodil Day are important,” he said.
Sadly, it is unlikely that John will ever be able to perform again after undergoing major surgery in 2022 to remove the tumor from his mouth.
The surgery, which was performed by 26 medical staff, also removed a large portion of his jaw. Twelve months after the operation, Farnham announced that he was cancer-free.
