The clip showed James lighting a beautifully decorated cake with the inscription ‘coming 2025’.

After lighting the inscription, it came loose and the word “Boy” appeared, confirming that they are having a son.

He also shared a photo of his partner’s ultrasound, which showed their unborn baby’s hand.

James captioned the clip with some heartfelt words: “Coming 2025! Tessa, I love you so much!’

Many of James’ famous friends quickly took to the comments section to congratulate the happy couple on the great news.

‘Congratulations guys. Great news to start the year,” wrote Rebecca James, the fiancée of Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac.

‘Ahhhhhh this is the best ever! I’m so happy for you guys,” Neighbors star Bonnie Anderson added.

James has been in a relationship with Tessa, a registered doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, for several years and they previously attended the premiere of the John Farnham: Finding the Voice documentary in Melbourne in 2023.

This will be the first grandchild for the legendary You’re the Voice singer, whose eldest son Robert married his long-term girlfriend Melissa Kelly in 2024.

In August, James and Robert Farnham shared intimate family moments in a bid to raise money cancer research.

Rob and James Farnham, ambassadors for the Cancer Council’s annual conference Daffodil Day fundraiser on August 22, took to Rob’s Instagram to share a series of heartwarming family snaps.

The clip featured Rob, 45, and James chatting about their iconic father’s cancer journey through a carousel of rare family photos.

“Our father was diagnosed with cancer two years ago,” Rob said in the video.

‘The past few years have been difficult for our family.

‘It started as an ulcer in his mouth and we discovered it was cancer. It was a pretty brutal time for all of us,” he continued.

James added that initiatives such as Daffodil Day had played a crucial role in his father’s survival.

“Our father wouldn’t be here without cancer research and that’s why days like Daffodil Day are important,” he said.

It is unclear whether John Farnham will ever perform again after undergoing marathon surgery to remove the tumor from his mouth in 2022.

The operation, carried out by 26 medical staff, also saw the removal of much of his jaw and twelve months after the operation, Farnham revealed he was cancer-free.

He only discovered he had the cancerous tumor in his mouth after his wife Jill insisted on taking him to the doctor for a check-up when he developed a persistent mouth ulcer.
