John Daly criticized the PGA after pulling out by 13 holes in the first round of the Senior PGA Championship on Thursday.
The colorful cult hero posted a stark image of his swollen legs after failing to finish the course, citing the “down grade” tee boxes.
“It’s so hard playing tee boxes that are downgraded,” Daly tweeted. ‘Golf course is great but I wish they would level their tee boxes!
‘We are not young anymore!! Some guys are ADA and we can’t continue on downhill tee boxes!!
“I’m sorry @PGA you’re going the wrong way with golf, but I love you all.
John Daly left on the PGA after suffering from what appeared to be leg swelling in the Sr. Champs
The former 1991 PGA Championship winner withdrew this year due to injury
“But you make really long holes. St. Andrew’s never had a downhill tee box. Stop while NOT moving forward…. Thanks 13.’
Mail Sport has not yet received a response from the PGA TOUR champions in response to Daly’s criticism.
It follows Dally’s withdrawal from the PGA Championship earlier this month due to an unspecified injury.
The winner of the 1991 PGA Championship has experience with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act 1990).
In 2018, Daly was denied a cart, despite lawyers saying otherwise, at the US Seniors Open and as a result said he would not play another USGA.
The lovable Arkansas cult figure is a heavy and lifelong smoker who also likes to drink Diet Coke
In recent years, Daly has needed a buggy to get around the course due to osteoarthritis.
Daly said he was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020, which he said in March last year had turned benign.
The 57-year-old is a heavy, lifelong smoker and a proud Diet Coke guzzler — once claiming he could drink 20 cans a day.
And a reporter once claimed that he followed Daly to the 2008 Windham Championship and counted that he smoked 21 cigarettes, about 12 cans of Diet Coke and six bags of M&Ms with peanuts.
