John Cena posts cryptic Leonardo Di Caprio meme on Instagram as the WWE legend hints at an update on his future with the company

  • John Cena’s future with WWE is hazy amid Hollywood’s actors’ strikes
  • He recently refereed LA Knight’s Payback clash with the Miz
  • Cena and Knight then defeated Bloodline members Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso

John Cena took to Instagram to seemingly shed a little light on his future with WWE, posting a meme with little explanation.

The 16-time world champion tends not to caption any of his posts on the social media platform, but his most recent meme – an iconic scene from The Wolf of Wall Street – needed little explanation.

Because Di Caprio’s character Jordan Belfort is supposed to be leaving his fictional company in the film, he turns around when giving a speech to his employees and says, “I’m not leaving!”.

Cena’s announcement post comes under similar circumstances, with rumors of a possible retirement from the sport, but this development suggests he won’t be leaving just yet.

He recently made a long-awaited return to WWE action amid the ongoing actors’ strikes in Hollywood, though the writers’ strikes have ended, where he has been building a blossoming acting career.

The 16-time world champion had passed more than two thousand days since his last televised singles victory in WWE

“I made it clear that you can’t do both because of liability insurance,” Cena claimed after Fastlane, explaining that he would have to return to acting after the strikes end.

‘If I tried to combine both, it would be very selfish because I would put a lot of people in the film business out of work if something happened to me.

‘Yes, I stopped a project halfway through. I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike, but we are in the middle of it. As soon as we get back to work, we’ll get back to work.

‘I have no control over that. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping we can find a solution that everyone is happy with. At this point I think this is the best way I can help. To return to my family.”

He acted as guest referee for LA Knight’s clash with The Miz at the Payback event in September, before teaming with the former at Fastlane earlier this month to defeat Bloodline members Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.

He’s also included in the ads for the upcoming Crown Jewel event, and his Instagram activity would certainly indicate that he’ll be there at least until then, which will take place in November.

However, on an episode of Smackdown earlier in October, Cena was seen in an emotional preview in which he seemed to suggest that retirement is looming for the 46-year-old.

It comes amid an unprecedented lack of success for one of the sport’s all-time greats, who at the time had passed 2,002 days since his last televised singles victory in WWE.
