Jogou Shrine is a shrine north of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s Mt Lanayrudeep in a cave in the Lanayru big spring region.
Our guide will help you find the location of Jogou Shrine and lead you through “Rauru’s Blessing” to collect the chest and Light of blessing.
When you’re done, our shrine locations page or interactive Hyrule map can lead you to something else.
Jogou shrine location
The Jogou Shrine is located in the Lanayru big spring region. Looking at the map, you want to get to the river in the deep canyon of the East Necluda region, where you will find a stone bridge along the water called Lanayru Road – East Gate.
Jump off the bridge towards the water and float (or swim) east. You will soon reach an underground cave – specifically the Lanayru Road East Cave.
Go through this cave to reach the coordinates of the shrine (3346, -1187, 0057)although of course you will encounter some challenges along the way.
At first, this cave is mostly filled with water, so if you have the Zora Armor or food that increases your swimming speed, use it to your advantage. If you go east, deeper into the cave, you will come across the cave oktoroks and glowing cave fish along the way, as well Ore deposits which you can break open to find precious gems.
Keep going east, further and further into the watery cavern, until you reach land – and a Rock like, which will spit boulders at you until you defeat it. Keep going, still heading east into a large cave. In the center of this room, you can see the green glow of Jogou Shrine’s exterior peeking out from behind a huge rock structure surrounded by a moat.
Before you dive in, walk along the side of the canal; feel free to mine more ore deposits or grab bright flowering seeds and clear cap mushrooms if you want them. On the left you may see an opening that seems to take you deeper into the cave; that is actually another entrance (or exit) for this cave. On the right side there is another small opening with a Bubblefrog inside.
As you continue to walk around the edge of the moat surrounding the Jogou Shrine, you’ll encounter the big challenge of this room (and this shrine): it’s a grand old Black Boss Bokoblin followed by five Black Bokoblins. This fight will be tough, so here’s the good news: Jogou Shrine will be puzzle-free once you’re inside. We survived this battle by firing a lot and carefully picking out each of the smaller Bokoblins before finally overcoming the big guy.
There’s also an Octorok waiting in the moat, but after that big Bokoblin battle, you’ll need to move quickly.
You have two options to get to the shrine; the first is the most obvious, which is to swim across the moat and climb up the rock structure to get to the front door of Jogou Shrine. The rock structure around the shrine is covered in water and moss, which means you have a Sticky elixir to climb it – or you can put on Froggy Armor, if you have it.
However, there is an easier way if you have some arrows and Bomb flowers. Walk around to the end of the rock structure surrounding the shrine and you’ll see a chunk of rock that can be blown up. This will reveal a much shorter, easier climb to the shrine.
Jogou shrine walkthrough
This shrine has no puzzles as the real challenge was getting there. Once you enter the shrine you can walk straight ahead and the chestin which a Solid elixir. After you grab that, walk a bit further and get the Light of blessing.
