Joey Lawrence’s estranged wife Samantha Cope broke her silence on her split from the actor in an emotional Instagram clip on Saturday.
The 37-year-old mother of one officially filed for divorce from the Melissa & Joey star, 48, on August 13 after two years of marriage. She cited “irreconcilable differences” and set a separation date of June 7, 2024.
He has since been accused of having an affair with actress Melina Alves during his marriage to Samantha, reportedly “insulting” Alves “with all his heart” while Cope “cried her eyes out.”
Alongside a video montage, Samantha wrote in the caption: ‘A wonderful friend of mine recently said to me, “Don’t be afraid of the tears. Let them flow.”‘
She added: ‘Because every tear is a sign that God is gently squeezing the pain and devastation from your heart, making room for new, beautiful feelings.’

In the post, Cope shared several clips of herself spending time with her 1-year-old daughter, Dylan Rose, whom she shares with Lawrence.
The star also shared candid footage of herself crying outside and in a car with her baby daughter.
Next, we see Samantha spinning around with her daughter in her arms in a spacious bedroom with a big smile on her face.
Finally, Cope was seen standing next to a horse, surrounded by a picturesque landscape, and sharing other beautiful moments with her little one.
In the video, a voiceover could be heard saying, “Look, look how far you’ve come.”
“You faced your trauma and you came out the other side. And I’m sorry if I get a little emotional. But there were times when I really worried about you, miss girl. But look at you today. I’m so proud of you. You’re a survivor.”
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, it was revealed that Samantha filed for divorce from Joey on August 13. She requested that she and her estranged husband not receive any alimony.

She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and also demanded full custody of their daughter.
Cope stated in documents obtained by We weekly that she will let Dylan stay with Joey two nights a week when she turns three.
But as for the possibility of Joey being able to visit their daughter longer, Samantha said she wants to wait until Dylan “is older and can consent to such visits.”
Not long after she filed her case, Lawrence was accused of having an affair with his co-star and fellow actress, Melina Alves. The pair will star in the upcoming film, Socked In For Christmas.
In documents obtained by TMZMelina’s estranged husband, Edward Rider – who filed for divorce in July – claimed he found out about Alves and Lawrence’s affair earlier this year in March.
According to Rider, the affair allegedly took place in California and “at various other times and places.”
A source recently said People that Joey “love bombed” Melina — something he also did with Samantha.
