Joey King supports SAG-AFTRA’s strike as she joins the Los Angeles picket line outside the Disney studios
Joey King lent her support to the SAG-AFTRA strike on Friday in Burbank, California, as she protested outside Disney studios.
The 24-year-old Kissing Booth star – who recently enjoyed a celebratory stag weekend – showed up to march with her fellow players.
A native of Los Angeles, King arrived wearing black leggings and a black T-shirt that read “SAG-AFTRA STRONG.”
The blonde beauty wore her tousled locks in an imperfect center part and tucked the front pieces behind her ears.
She carried a green backpack over her shoulders and held a sign as she walked in a pair of cream-colored Reebok sneakers.

Joey, who is engaged to be married to Steven Piet, wore a colorful charm necklace and square red sunglasses.
She skipped earrings but wore several rings, drawing attention to her metallic silver manicure.
King joined forces with her industry colleagues, who have been on strike since July 14 to fight for better wages and protection against artificial intelligence.
Other celebrities were also strikingly depicted on Friday. Beanie Feldstein, 30, joined the picket line in New York City, wearing plaid pants and a T-shirt.
Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, 51, was casually cool in a black V-neck T-shirt and matching hat while protesting in Hollywood with Jerry Lambert.
Titanic star Frances Fisher, 71, was also spotted joining the picket line, while Gabrielle Carteris, 62, protested outside Universal Studios.
The union joined the Writers Guild of America, which began its strike on May 2. The strike brought both television and film productions to an unceremonious halt.
The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) — which represents about 160,000 actors and entertainers — announced last month that studios’ negotiations had ended without a deal.

Subsequently, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA’s national executive director and chief negotiator for its collective bargaining agreement, announced that the union leadership had officially voted for a work stoppage.
It came after the entertainers’ demands for higher wages and protection against AI were not met.
Under the rules of a strike, SAG-AFTRA members are not allowed to film movies or TV series, or participate in press or movie premieres.
The announcement marks the first strike for film and television show actors since 1980.
It is also the first time that two major Hollywood unions have gone on strike since 1960, when Ronald Reagan was president of the actor’s guild.
The strike will affect Disney’s Avatar and Lion King sequels, as well as shows that were slated to return to television in the fall, such as The Simpsons.
Crabtree-Ireland said dead-end talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers left the union ‘no choice’ but to go ahead with a strike.
“It came with great sadness that we came to this crossroads. We had no choice,” Fran Drescher, the president of SAG-AFTRA, said in an impassioned speech at the time.
“We are the victims here. We are falling victim to a very greedy entity. I am appalled at the way the people we have done business with treat us.
“I honestly can’t believe how far apart we are on so many points. How they advocate poverty that they are losing money left and right while giving hundreds of millions of dollars to CEOs,” the former Nanny star stressed.

Later on Friday, King took to Instagram to share photos from her day march for workers’ rights.
She wrote in the caption, “Get in loser, we’re going to peck.” Loved seeing part of our #WeWereTheLuckyOnes family today.”
As for her personal life, Joey has a lot to look forward to with her upcoming wedding.
King met Piet on the set of her hit TV series The Act, and they started dating in September 2019.
The 32-year-old filmmaker popped the question in February 2022, which King announced in an Instagram post shortly after.
