Joey King showed off her naturally long natural locks at Disney’s FYC event at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles on Saturday – a week after fooling fans into thinking she had cut her hair into a short bob at the film festival from Cannes in France.

“We used a high-quality waist-length wig for the transformation,” hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos revealed People last Friday.

‘By cutting and styling the wig into a sleek bob, we achieved the dramatic change without any permanent commitment. It’s all about versatility and playing with different looks.”

Hairstylist Rena Calhoun gave the 24-year-old Emmy nominee’s dark-rooted mane a wet, slicked look for the industry event, and she wore an Alessandro Vigilante collared crop top and matching pants selected by stylist Jared Eng.

Makeup artist Allan Avendaño applied white winged eyeliner to Joey, who accessorized her all-white outfit with a Patou clutch and jewelry from DJULA, Simone and My Dearest World.

King competed for Emmy gold by discussing her new Hulu series We Were the Lucky Ones with her on-screen mother from Hulu’s The Act, Oscar winner Patricia Arquette.

The eight-episode adaptation of Georgia Hunter’s 2017 novel about a Jewish family determined to survive and reunite after being separated in World War II.

‘It’s a beautiful story. I love Georgia Hunter’s book so much and I found it so compelling. I have a Jewish background. And it is very special to be able to find material that you feel so connected to,” said the L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador in her Natural diamonds cover story.

‘Because the best part of what we do is we play characters and a lot of times we have nothing in common with those characters and that’s really cool because you really just have to pretend. But it’s rare that you find something that you actually have some kind of connection to, that makes you feel so much in your heart and soul.

“This was a challenging role, so challenging to dive into this material and become this person and do the dialect work, and also the emotional nature of these scenes. It’s also so special to have that connection, even though this role was so difficult. But when you feel that personal connection, the way you get into character is so emotional and so compelling.”
