Joe Rogan was stunned when Mel Gibson revealed the amazing way three friends cured their stage 4 cancer
Joe Rogan was left stunned when Mel Gibson revealed the controversial way his friends treated their terminal cancer.
On the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Gibson said three of his friends were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and all had “serious things going on.”
Gibson claimed they used ivermectin and fenbendazole, medications commonly given to treat infections caused by roundworms, pinworms and other parasites.
The Lethal Weapon star then sensationally claimed that all three friends “don’t currently have cancer.”
“This stuff works, man,” he added.
There is early evidence that using ivermectin in combination with other therapies may help shrink tumors, but that has not been refuted by larger studies.
Some research has also suggested that fenbendazole, known by the brand names Panacur and Safe-Guard, stops the growth of cancer cells, even some of the most aggressive types.
Experts said that while the early research is encouraging and side effects are minimal, both drugs need further study and should still be used alongside standard care such as chemotherapy.
Actor Mel Gibson, 69, left Joe Rogan shocked when he revealed three of his friends with stage four cancer are said to have cured their disease with anti-parasitic drugs ivermectin and fenbendazole.
Veteran podcaster Rogan agreed with Gibson, claiming: ‘This stuff works, which is strange because it doesn’t make a profit’

Gibson said, “I do not believe that there is anything that can afflict mankind if there is no natural remedy for it. It just makes sense to me.
‘I couldn’t prove that, but I just believe it. There has to be something that heals things.”
Referring to both drugs, Rogan added: “This stuff does work, which is strange because it doesn’t make any gains.”
He also acknowledged that both drugs are controversial and suggested that health authorities could push standard cancer treatments because they are more profitable.
Rogan added, “When you hear about things that are being demonized and that turn out to be effective, you always wonder, ‘What’s going on here? How have our medical institutions failed us so that things that heal you are not promoted because they are ‘not profitable?’
Costs vary, but it is estimated to cost about $90 for 20 tablets without insurance.
A 2021 study of researchers at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in California suggested that using ivermectin alongside the anti-PD1 antibody could treat triple negative breast cancer tumors in mice.
However, the researchers cautioned that it is unclear whether the same results can be replicated in humans and recommended using ivermectin alone.
A team from City of Hope also initiated clinical trials of ivermectin alongside the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab, which is approved for breast, lung and endometrial cancer.
However, the processfunded by the National Cancer Institute, was withdrawn. It is unclear why the investigation stopped.
Dr. Susanne Arnold, associate director of clinical translation at Markey Cancer Center in Kentucky, told The Associated Press last year that while there have been preclinical studies of using ivermectin and similar drugs to slow the growth of cancer cells in laboratories, this is not the same as proving that the drugs work in humans.
She said: ‘I know of no reports of clinical trials that have shown successful results in people with cancer.’
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug usually given to animals such as dogs and horses. However, influencers have touted it as a miracle cure for Covid and cancer
Ivermectin was first approved for use in animals in 1981, although it would be thirty years before it was touted as a potential cancer treatment.
The earliest research dates back to 2014, with a Swiss study suggesting that ivermectin could stop the growth of some lung and intestinal tumors.
However, the study was conducted on cells rather than human subjects.
Dr. Peter P. Lee, study author and chairman of City of Hope’s immuno-oncology department, said at the time: “Certainly on its own, ivermectin is not a cure or even an effective treatment for breast cancer.
‘I am proud to be a rigorous, honest scientist. And in our hands, after many years of experimentation, it shows promise – but not in isolation.”
Ivermectin has also been shown to be largely ineffective against Covid.
It became a political hot button during the pandemic after Republican politicians, including newly elected President Donald Trump, expressed support for the drug’s use against Covid.
In 2022, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) wrote on its website that it “recommends against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 except in clinical trials.”
A 2022 study from Malaysia found that ivermectin could not prevent Covid patients from becoming seriously ill.
And researchers in New York City suggested that patients with Covid who improved with ivermectin may actually have been treated and treated for the parasite strongyloidiasis.
However, the team found that in most cases the drug does not cause serious side effects, with itchy skin, vomiting, diarrhea and fatigue being among the most commonly reported side effects.
Ivermectin has been shown to interact with the blood thinner warfarin, because ivermectin can disrupt clotting factors, leading to increased bleeding.
Gibson also claims that his friends were taking fenbendazole, given primarily to dogs to kill roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and certain tapeworms in animals.
In 2021, a series of three case studies with advanced cancer, it turned out that in all three patients the tumors became smaller after taking fendendazole. However, the authors emphasized that more research is needed.
There have been a handful of scientific papers published in recent years showing that fenbendazole has cancer-fighting properties, including one 2020 review from scientists in Tennessee, who found that the drug slowed the growth of lung cancer in some mice with the disease.
Another study From this year, six human cases were reviewed where tumors shrank after taking the drug. The conclusion was that fenbendazole ‘stands out’ as a possible new cancer therapy.
However, other studies have shown significant risks.

Doctors in South Korea – which saw an increase in the number of people taking the drug to fight cancer in 2019 – said some patients developed intestinal necrosis, a serious medical condition in which part of the intestine dies.
In October this year, a 45-year-old British man was reported to have died of liver failure after taking the drug for its alleged cancer-fighting properties.
Dr. Jason Williams, who uses experimental treatments for cancer patients, previously told DailyMail.com: ‘Fenbendazole can be useful for specific content, but it is a double-edged sword.
‘In some cases, it can even promote cancer growth if not applied properly.
‘Its use should be carefully tailored to the individual patient’s situation and closely monitored.’
Fenbendazole costs about $9 for a week’s supply and is available over the counter and online for dogs in liquid, powder, or paste form.
The drug is also not recommended to treat cancer in animals.
