Joe Pavelski scored a game-winner in overtime to ensure the Stars live to fight another day, with Dallas now trailing 3-1 in their playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Finals.
Pavelski, 38, scored a power play goal at 3:18 in overtime – a one-time timer from the center of the left circle to the far post – on Thursday night, just seconds after Stars forward Roope Hintz thought he had closed out the game with a close range shot on target, but this was denied by Vegas goaltender Adin Hill.
Pavelski’s late winner came two-and-a-half minutes after Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb was penalized for high-sticking against Ty Dellandrea. The Stars scored with about 1:10 power play left until McNabb’s return to the ice.
