Joe explained, “On stage I’ve got a really big pair of moose antlers and they’re huge things — they’ve got such huge teeth attached to them.”
“And the joke is I have to put them on my head and I’m going, ‘I put too much mousse on my hair.'” But at the end of the act, the curtains went down and all my props were all over the place. stage and they obviously turn off the lights.
“And I start putting all my props away and I literally trip over my moose head. It went in slow motion. My moose head is on the ground sticking up and I start going down – I fall on the moose head.
Bloody: The curtain had just fallen on the second night of his new tour when the terrifying accident occurred, leaving him with permanent scars
“I would impale myself on eight moose points in the stomach. Seriously, I died.’
Joe went on to explain how if he had been stabbed in the stomach it could have been fatal, but thanks to his “agility” he managed to avoid life-threatening damage.
However, he ended up needing seven stitches in his leg after the moose’s teeth severed the back of his leg.
The comedian continued: ‘I’m 62, but I’m pretty nimble for a guy my age. So I had one leg on the floor, the other hanging there on the right side, and I managed to push myself over. My torso went over the moose’s head.
“It was like Tom Cruise in the new Mission Impossible movie. I actually turned on my back too, all in a split second. It was all in a split second.
“And when I landed on the moose’s head, on its teeth, I only hit the back of the leg. It really hurt, but I thought “that’s okay”.
“Anyway, I went to my tour manager who does the sound. I went, “Lee, I think I hurt my leg, would you like to take a look at it?” He went, “Yeah, what did you do?”
“I said, ‘I just fell over and landed on my moose head’.” He laughed. I pulled down my pants to show him and he almost turned white, he almost passed out. He said, “Oh my God, you need a medic.”
Joe admitted that he must have been in shock before the medic insisted he go straight to the emergency room because the cut was so severe.
Barely! Joe needed seven stitches and said, ‘I have a really big hole in the back of my leg, but if I had gone straight down on my stomach I’d be dead’

This is in Skegness at 11pm. I said “There’s no way I’m going to Skegness at 11am, I’ll be there for 48 hours, it’s going to be full of every drunk person in the world”. He said, “Well, you have to go.”
‘In the morning I was in Bridlington, so I went to an ER in Bridlington. I go there at nine in the morning. They sewed me up. I had to have seven stitches.
