Joe Jonas feels his ex-wife Sophie Turner’s splashy birthday tribute to her new boyfriend was a ‘slap in the face’, claim his friends, who feel it was a ‘strange’ move so soon after their divorce.

Jonas, 35, filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones actress, 28, in September 2023, a month before she was pictured kissing British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, 30, in Paris.

Their divorce was finalized in September, with Turner confirming her new relationship on Instagram this weekend with a series of photos from their one-year romance.

Jonas feels the post, in which she described Pearson as her “angel pie,” so soon after their divorce really “twisted the knife” after a bitter year-long legal battle.

Turner finally went Instagram official with Pearson on Sunday, sharing a photo of the couple kissing under a tent with others, showing them together on a tour boat, posing on a hot air balloon and skiing.

Other images show her fixing his tie at a party and sitting on his lap with a bottle of beer in her hand.

“Congratulations on my angel cake, 30, flirty and blossoming,” she captioned the post.

The actress’s new love interest is the eldest son and heir of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray – a former film producer who owns a significant part of the Pearson media empire.

Although Turner is said to be worth as much as $10 million, this pales in comparison to Peregrine’s family fortune, which is estimated to be more than £224 million ($273 million).

He has a $5 million home in Chelsea, while his father owns a sprawling West Sussex mansion with 22 bedrooms and 16,500 acres of land.
