Joe Jonas files to dismiss Miami divorce case with Sophie Turner as pair resolve to settle split in private – after reaching custody agreement over their two daughters
Joe Jonas has filed to dismiss his Miami divorce case with Sophie Turner, with the pair agreeing to settle their split privately after mediation.
The singer, 34, recently reached a custody agreement with the actress, 27, over their two daughters and has now filed to dismiss his petition for dissolution in Miami.
The court documents say the former couple have reached ‘various agreements’ and plan to ‘pursue an amicable resolution of all issues’ reports Page six.
Jonas filed for divorce in Miami on Sept. 1, with sources close to him claiming that Turner spent too much time and left him alone to look after their daughters.
Turner fired back, accusing Jonas of refusing to hand over the girls’ passports so they could return to England with her.

She cited an international law on child abduction as grounds for the children who were with her.
The status of Turner’s divorce case in the UK is not known.
Earlier this week, Joe and Sophie officially spoke after reaching a temporary custody agreement.
They shared a statement on Tuesday announcing their new arrangement after going through mediation last week amid their bitter divorce battle.
DailyMail.com previously obtained court documents which reveal the new custody arrangement will give each parent two weeks at a time with their daughters and allow the girls to travel back and forth between the US and the UK.
“Following a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend equal amounts of time in loving homes in both the US and the UK,” Joe and Sophie said in a joint statement.
“We look forward to being great co-parents,” the couple added.
The entertainment exes share two daughters, three-year-old Willa and one-year-old Delphine, whose name was not reported before their split.

The former couple, who said they reached an agreement ‘amicably’ in the documents, will each get two weeks at a time with their daughters until January.
They will also be allowed to travel anywhere in the US and UK, meaning Turner can bring the girls to England, which she claims will be their ‘forever home’.
While Jonas will be taking the girls on tour with his band The Jonas Brothers, Turner will be able to spend Christmas with them in the UK with her family.
The agreement comes after four days of intense mediation in New York, where the girls are currently staying with Turner, from October 4 to 7. The child custody decision is expected to pave the way for the couple’s divorce to be finalized.
The court filing by Stephen Cullen, Turner’s attorney, called the mediation “ongoing and productive” and that the division of custody comes “pending an amicable resolution of all issues.”
Cullen appears to have made good on his promise to ‘bring down the mercury’ made during a court hearing in New York last week.

The split has sparked court proceedings in Miami, the United Kingdom and New York, where the child custody issue is being handled.
The court filing in New York states that both sides are engaged in mediation in the UK and the US.
Under the previous interim consent order, the girls were required to remain in New York.
The second interim consent order, which both sides requested a judge approve, states that both sides have agreed that the girls will be with Turner from Oct. 9 to 21.
Turner may ‘temporarily’ travel with them anywhere in the US or the UK, but must return them to New York on October 21, where they will be ‘transferred’ to Jonas.

The handover must take place at a time and place convenient for both parties, the filing said.
Jonas will be with the children until November 2, when he or their nanny will bring them back to New York.
He will be able to travel anywhere in the US, which means the girls will be able to accompany him on his US tour with the Jonas Brothers.
During those dates, the band is scheduled to play in Austin, Texas, along with Southern California stops in San Diego and Anaheim.
On Nov. 2, they play in Fresno, California, which might explain why their babysitter might send them back to New York for the handover.
The document states that Turner will have the children for the next two weeks until November 22, and Jonas will have them for the next two weeks until December 16 under the same conditions.
Turner will spend Christmas with her daughters, as she will be with them from December 16 to January 7, at which point she will have to return them to New York.
A hearing to resolve the custody cases is scheduled for January 2.
Previous legal documents detailed how the couple’s three-year marriage quickly broke up in August after Jonas allegedly saw Turner insulting him on their Ring cam.
He filed for divorce two weeks later, claiming their relationship was ‘irretrievably broken’.
But Turner responded with the lawsuit in New York.
In court documents, she claimed the couple sold their Miami home in March and bought a $9 million home near Oxford in the UK, which they intended to be their ‘forever home’.
Turner went further in legal documents in Miami where she included a letter Jonas wrote to the seller of the property that showed him gushing about the prospect of living there.
