Joe Burrow gets no sympathy from Roquan Smith after wrist injury, see the Bengals QB leave Baltimore with a loss: ‘When you play against the Ravens’ D, things like that happen’
Baltimore middle linebacker Roquan Smith responded controversially when asked if Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered an injury during the Ravens 34-20 win over Cincinnati.
“He’s a great player and I have a lot of respect for him and the way he plays the game,” Smith said of Burrow. “But hey, injuries are part of the game, so you know.
“When you play against the Ravens’ D, sometimes things like that happen. Wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.”
Burrow suffered a hand injury in the second quarter of the game and was unable to return to action.
He had been dealing with a wrist injury and appears to be resolving the issue after being hit on a passing play.

After trying to throw on the sideline, Burrow shook his head no and ran to the locker room
Soon after, he was in obvious pain, such as after throwing a touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon before being checked by trainers in the medical tent. Mixon also ran the ball 16 times for 69 yards, along with five catches for 31 yards.
When leaving the tent and attempting to make passes along the sideline, Burrow could not raise his arm above a 90-degree angle and would also have difficulty gripping the ball.
He attempted two passes before shaking his head no and eventually running to the locker room before being ruled out for the rest of the game.
Before leaving the game, Burrow completed 11-17 passes and collected 101 yards to go along with the TD pass.
After the game, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said he believes Burrow’s injury is a sprained wrist for now.
After the game, Burrow was caught using his left hand to dab Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and also appeared to tell fellow Ravens LB Patrick Queen that he “felt a pop…we’ll see.”
