At an annual ceremony, six actresses and six actors receive a Theater World Award in recognition of their debut performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.
It comes after Jodie was nominated for her first Tony award for her role in her latest show.
The actress has a chance to win a gong in the Best Leading Actress Of A Play category for the one-woman theater spectacle Prima Facie, which premiered at the Harold Pinter Theater in London.
Jodie stars as a lawyer named Tessa in the play, which moved to New York in April to critical acclaim and saw her make her Broadway debut.
In the show, Tessa defends men accused of rape and then finds herself on the witness stand after being assaulted.
Jodie competes against Jessica Chastain in A Doll’s House, Jessica Hecht in Summer, 1976 and Audra McDonald in Ohio State Murders in her category.
The actress previously won Best Actress at the Olivier Awards for her role in the West End show which now runs until July at New York’s John Golden Theatre.
This will be the 76th annual awards and the show will be hosted by the Tony Awards committee in New York City.
The nominations were announced by Funny Girl star Lea Michele and Myles Frost, who won last year for his performance in MJ: The Musical.
