Lauren Fried, the heartbroken widow of Jock Zonfrillo, does her best to keep the celebrity chef’s memory alive for the sake of their children.
The MasterChef Australia judge was found dead in his Melbourne hotel room on April 30 and was buried at an intimate funeral in Sydney in May.
On Monday, Lauren took their six-year-old son Alfie to the hairdresser for a haircut followed by a gelato, a routine Jock usually shared with his son.
Lauren, who shares little Alfie and Isla, two, with Jock, said their son had requested a day out to do “daddy activities.”
Under a collage of photos shared on Jock’s Instagram account, Lauren wrote, “Alfie has asked me to do some of his daddy activities with him – making pancakes and doing lego for hours were in his requests.”

‘I went for the easiest option: a haircut, which the boys used to do together, followed by gelato.
“It put a smile on his face, which was wonderful.”
Beneath that, fans and friends were quick to praise Lauren for being so strong during such a difficult time.
On Monday, Lauren revealed that she took their young son Alfie, six, to the hairdresser’s to get a haircut, followed by ice cream, which is where Jock would normally take Alfie.
“Well done Mumma,” one follower captioned it.
Last month, Lauren shared a heartbreaking post from the moment Jock proposed to her in the Scottish Highlands.
“Seven years ago this week in the Scottish Highlands, Jock proposed to me,” she wrote at the time.

Jock died on April 30 in his hotel room at Zagame’s House on Lygon Street in Carlton, Melbourne and was found by police around 2am on Monday, May 1 – the same day Channel Ten was set to premiere the fifteenth season of MasterChef Australia.
He is survived by his third wife Lauren, and his four children: adult daughters Ava and Sophia from his first two marriages and Alfie and Isla with Lauren.
The media personality was slated for several publicity assignments for season 15 of MasterChef when he passed away suddenly.
Zonfrillo died on April 30 in his hotel room at Zagame’s House on Lygon Street in Carlton, Melbourne and was found by police at around 2am on Monday, May 1.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that when police entered the hotel room to conduct a welfare check, officers believed Jock had died of natural causes and found nothing to suggest otherwise.
No drug paraphernalia were also found in the hotel room, sources said.
A heartbroken Lauren said at his funeral, “We were two halves who found each other at just the right time in life when we were ready.”
“We were ready for that great love, to live an adventurous life, to become parents together, to fantasize things and to make them actually happen.”
