‘It’s a lie… a complete lie!’: Joao Cancelo DENIES fighting Pep Guardiola at Manchester City despite the pair’s training camp breakup… while Bayern’s loan man claims that ‘ You NEVER know’ what the future holds as he opens the door to a return to England
Joao Cancelo has responded to claims that he fell out with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City as a “complete lie”.
The full-back, who joined Bayern Munich on loan in January after falling out of favor at City, was questioned about his relationship with Guardiola after Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.
Sportsmail exclusively revealed last month that Cancelo was involved in a furious argument at the training ground with Guardiola after learning he would not start City’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal.
Rather than fan the flames of discontent, Cancelo chose to thank Pep, as he claims he has “nothing against City” and was simply gone for more playing time.
“It’s a lie that I had a fight with Guardiola, a complete lie,” he assured Sports world.

Now on loan at Bayern Munich, Cancelo has not closed the door on his return to Man City
“I didn’t feel important to the team in the last few games. I spoke to the coach and he agreed.
“Me, the coach and the club decided that I had to leave, that it was the best option for me. I like new opportunities and I have nothing against City.
Cancelo, who at one point seemed to be the best full-back in English football under Guardiola, found himself out of favor after the Premier League resumed after the World Cup.
The Portuguese started only three of the team’s 10 matches after the tournament in Qatar, and Cancelo, who was “like a volcano” when things were not going his way, was said to be unhappy with his manager.
While there is an expectation that Bayern will activate their purchase option at the end of the season, Cancelo, who said he is “very grateful” to Guardiola for their time together, was much more open to the possibility of a return to Manchester. .
“In football you never know and maybe I’ll come back when the season is over,” he added.
In fairness to Guardiola, he has remained magnanimous and respectful of Cancelo since he headed to Bavaria.
Cancelo claims he had no problem with Guardiola and is ‘very grateful’ for their time together
‘First I wish you the best in your four months [on loan]. Next season I don’t know what will happen,” Guardiola said earlier this month.
‘An incredible figure in the last two leagues we’ve won. After the World Cup, we did a preseason and decided to play, in different ways. I like what I see. I give more time to other players.
‘His personality, mine, he loves to play. He trains better, the situation where he doesn’t play much. In recent years one of the players with the most minutes.
He needs to play to be happy, we decided to let him go to Munich. He wants to play every game and hopefully he can do it in Munich.”
