EXCLUSIVE ‘Let’s get the old bird back in!’: Jo Wood, 67, jokes that her runway appearance at London Fashion Week came about because her designer friends ‘pity her’
Jo Wood has said she thinks her friends cast her in their fashion shows because they “pity” the “old bird.”
The TV personality, 67, took to the runway this year during London Fashion Week for the VIN + OMI show in a sheer babydoll dress.
Jo told MailOnline at the London premiere of The Last Heist: ‘My friends, they do a sustainable fashion show and because I believe in everything they do, they use plastic to make materials and things like that.

“And they always ask me, I think they just feel sorry for me. So they ask me again and again. The old bird. Let’s bring the old bird back in.’
Jo added, “I like to do that. It is awesome. I do that because it’s very important to do something you believe in.’
Earlier this year, Jo broke her ankle after accidentally falling down the stairs at her ex-husband Ronnie Wood’s house in Ireland.
The star joked at the time that she was “not drunk” and slipped because she had her young nephew with her.

During the premiere, she said, “This is the first time in heels. Well, sort of heels, yeah, so I’m like woohoo. I got everything clear from the doctor yesterday. The bone is fused. Everything is good.’
As for her career, Jo added that she is currently working on a follow-up book to her 2019 work Stoned.
She said, ‘I’m working on my next book. I did Stoned in 2019 and now I just started Too Stoned. Yes, all the pictures and bits and pieces from the past. So it is good to bundle them all in one book.
“Then, you know, don’t worry and I can fling all the pictures out. So this is a picture book with all my old photos that I used to take on tour, and it’s the second one, so…’

When asked what it was like to look back at all the photos from the past few years, Jo said: “It was hard… it was hard the first time. But this time it’s not so hard because, you know, I like looking at the pictures of the kids when they were little.’
“It’s like my history and, you know, it’s been great to look at it and the other thing that’s been really hard is that so many people have died. Pull out another photo: “Ohh, he’s dead, he’s dead, he’s dead.” It’s true. It’s pretty scary.’
Jo also spoke of the passing of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, whom she described as “amazing.”
She said, ‘I love Charlie. He was just great. Such a pity. I can’t believe I’ll never see him again. That’s life, isn’t it? I see him… I see him in the next one.’
