JioFinance app debuts in Paris by offering seamless digital payments

Jio Financial Services on Tuesday announced the entry into the international segment of its JioFinance app through Paris.

The app will allow users to make digital payments at select tourist attractions in Paris. Indian travellers can use the app to buy tickets for the Eiffel Tower through the official website, La Tour Eiffel. The app will also enable in-store shopping at the Parisian department store, Galeries Lafayette Paris Hausmann.

According to a stock exchange document: “We are proud to announce the launch of the JioFinance app in the French capital, enabling Indian travellers to easily transact digitally at key landmarks in Paris.”

The app aims to provide a comprehensive digital financial experience. The company explained, “JioFinance aims to provide a refined digital experience for all Indians at every step of their financial journey. The app caters to users with varying levels of familiarity with financial technology, and brings effortless money management at their fingertips.”

Key features of the app include instant UPI payments, a fully digital bank account, wallet services, bill payments and recharges, rewards, insurance brokerage and a consolidated view of an individual’s balances across different bank accounts.

JioFinance has also set up a special experience centre at ‘India House’ where visitors can explore the features of the app.

‘India House’ is a showcase of Indian culture and heritage in Paris, developed by the Reliance Foundation in collaboration with the Indian Olympic Association.

Visa, the official payment partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, has partnered with JioFinance for its presence at India House.

The participation comes at a time when the French capital is hosting the Olympic Games, which attract visitors from all over the world.
