He recently underwent major hip surgery.
And Jimmy Barnes showed that he really was on the mend, looking fit and healthy as he escorted his nine-year-old grandson Dylan to his first day of school on Monday.
Jimmy, dressed in blue jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers, was seen beaming proudly as he posed with his arm around Dylan in a photo posted to Facebook.
Jimmy Barnes showed that he was really on the mend after his recent hip surgery, looking fit and healthy as he accompanied his nine-year-old grandson, Dylan, to his first day of school on Monday.
Meanwhile, Dylan seemed happy to have his famous grandfather by his side for the big moment.
“First day at a new school for grandson Dylan,” Jimmy wrote in the caption of his Facebook post.
“We all went to see it,” he continued. He will soon be too ashamed of us. The children are growing up too fast.
Dylan is the son of Elly-May Barnes, 33, the youngest daughter of Jimmy and Jane Barnes.

It comes after the Cold Chisel founder recently underwent urgent hip surgery.
Jimmy canceled his summer tour in December to receive treatment to relieve chronic pain.
Interviewed on Channel 10’s The Project, Jimmy told co-host Carrie Bickmore that he wants to write a new album of songs and finish a book in his spare time.

Showing no sign of pain during his on-air chat, Jimmy put on a brave face as he said he hated “letting people down” by taking the difficult step of canceling his tour.
He explained to viewers that his back pain is now so bad that it is difficult for him to walk.
Jimmy only canceled the concerts, he said, because he feared he wouldn’t be able to put on a high-quality show that fans had come to expect.
