Rock legend Jimmy Barnes has faced new health problems after undergoing open-heart surgery and a hip replacement.
The 68-year-old Cold Chisel founder announced via social media on Saturday that he is canceling the final shows of his current solo tour Hell of a Time.
Jimmy told fans he needed hip surgery after experiencing severe pain following a series of performances in New Zealand.
The star, who underwent open-heart surgery last year following a hip replacement, is already looking forward to Cold Chisel’s 50th anniversary tour in October in 2022.
“I have some bad news, unfortunately,” Jimmy wrote in his Facebook post.
‘As I was leaving Dunedin (New Zealand) on Thursday morning I felt a shooting pain in my hip. By late last night the pain had become unbearable so I went to hospital.
‘The doctors have recommended medical treatment as soon as possible, followed by some physical therapy to address the problem. These doctors are not difficult!
‘If all goes according to plan, I expect to be fully recovered within six weeks.’

It was only last month that it appeared that Jimmy was making a good recovery from the shocking health condition he found himself in last year, which required open-heart surgery.
The singer looked fit as he ‘trained’ in the boxing ring.
While on holiday with his wife Jane in Thailand, he shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing in the gym of his luxury hotel.
The Working Class Man singer smiled throughout the photo as he held his arms in a boxer’s pose for the camera, while humorously preparing for a fight.
He looked healthy and confident in the photo and flashed his signature mischievous smile into the camera.

“This is the first hotel gym I’ve found with a Thai boxing ring. I see another hip replacement… Maybe not… I think my wife Jane is going to try it.”
Late last year Jimmy was struck by a life-threatening infection that affected his heart and underwent successful open-heart surgery.
A team of specialists discovered that his body was shutting down because an infection in his blood caused endocarditis, a life-threatening inflammation of the heart.

By the time he was wheeled into the operating room for open-heart surgery, his doctors told him he had just hours to live. During a seven-hour operation, doctors successfully replaced his damaged heart valves and repaired his heart.
Eight months later, Barnes’ recovery is going well and he recently announced that his band Cold Chisel will be touring domestically later this year.
In June, promoters announced more shows for the tour, dubbed ‘The Big Five-0’, featuring frontman Jimmy Barnes and bandmates Ian Moss, Phil Small and Don Walker.
The tour has become a huge success after Chisel Chisel’s management announced that 150,000 tickets have been sold for 16 shows across the country.
