At the time, he informed his fans about his health condition via social media.

“I have some bad news, unfortunately,” Jimmy wrote in a Facebook post.

‘As I was leaving Dunedin (New Zealand) on Thursday morning I felt a shooting pain in my hip. By late last night the pain had become unbearable so I went to hospital.

“The doctors have recommended medical treatment as soon as possible, followed by some physical therapy to address the problem. These doctors don’t mess around!”

Jimmy’s cancelled performances include concerts in Wyong, Toowoomba, Thirroul, Canberra and the Sydney Opera House.

It was only last month that it appeared that Jimmy was making a good recovery from the shocking health condition he found himself in last year, which required open-heart surgery.

The singer looked fit as he ‘trained’ in the boxing ring.

While on holiday with his wife Jane in Thailand, he shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing in the gym of his luxury hotel.

The singer was all smiles in the adorable photo as he held his arms in a boxer’s pose for the camera as he humorously prepared for a fight.

He looked healthy and confident in the photo and flashed his signature mischievous smile into the camera.
