Jimmie Allen has apologized to his estranged wife Alexis for “humiliating” her with his infidelity, following a lawsuit filed against him for assault and sexual assault.
The 37-year-old country singer took to social media on Thursday with a detailed apology after being named April 28 in a lawsuit brought by a woman who once worked for him as his manager.
“I want to apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair,” the Milton, Delaware, resident said of his estranged husband, 27, who filed for divorce from him last month and is expecting their third child .
The Grammy-nominated artist continued, “I am ashamed that my choices have disgraced her. She didn’t deserve that at all.’

In his apology, Allen referred to his children and said he was disappointed in himself for his behavior.
“I also want to apologize to my children for being a bad example of a man and a father,” he said, adding that he “worked to become a better person that my children can be proud of.”
Allen said his “goal is to be better than the previous generation” and that the entertainment industry “demands so much of you.”
Allen added, “It’s full of temptations that can paralyze you and ruin everything you’ve built.”
The musician said he was “ashamed” that he was “not strong enough to resist” temptation and vowed “to stop being a victim of [his] weak points.’
Allen concluded by saying, “I challenge anyone to seek help when they need it. Don’t be afraid of your weakness, surround yourself with people who WILL help you. Be blessed.”
Allen said on Instagram Stories earlier this week, “This too shall pass” and “We’ll be fine” following news of the lawsuit filed against him.
In the lawsuit, a 25-year-old woman who once managed the artist accused him of sexual harassment and abuse, saying executives on his management team ignored her complaints about his behavior.
