Jim Jordan reveals how often he speaks to Trump and how the latest CIA Hunter laptop bomb could be a key moment during the Biden debate
Jim Jordan said he wants to inform Donald Trump about how former intelligence officials who signed the letter condemning disinformation about Hunter Biden’s laptop were actively paid by the CIA.
The Judiciary chairman exclusively told DailyMail.com that he speaks with the former president about once a week and that he expects Hunter Biden’s laptop and the letter signed by 51 former officials to be brought up during Thursday night’s debate will come.
“I spoke to him almost every week … he called me out of the blue the other day to say he was having dinner with a colleague of ours,” Jordan said. “I’ll probably talk to him sometime this week about the latest report we just released on the 51 former Intel officials.”
“We expect him to use this in the debate,” Jordan said during Tuesday’s interview.
Trump and President Joe Biden will meet in Atlanta on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET in their first debate of the campaign, hosted by CNN.

Jordan, along with Oversight Chairman James Comer, has been spearheading the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden, which is attempting to link Joe Biden to Hunter and James Biden’s shady business dealings.
The investigation did not result in an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives, but did result in the House referring Hunter and James to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal prosecution.
Jordan, who helped found the hardline Freedom Caucus, has long been a popular ally of former President Donald Trump.
He has pushed back criminal cases against Trump from Congress and led the effort to “defund” Trump prosecutors such as Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and Fulton County, Georgia DA Fani Willis.
But that pressure was ignored by the House’s top Republican appropriators, who will draft the bill to fund the DOJ without any provision to bar funding for prosecutors who go after former presidents.
“We should not be funding this operation,” Jordan said, noting that amendments will be filed to add the “defund” language.
But he seemed to resign himself to the fact that Congress could do little about Trump’s prosecutions. “The ultimate counter-reaction is November 5,” he said.
Two days before Trump was convicted on July 11 on 34 counts of falsifying corporate records, Jordan also told DailyMail.com that he will invite Brad Smith, a campaign finance expert, to testify before Congress.
Trump’s legal team wanted to include Smith, a former Republican member of the Federal Election Commission, as a witness in the hush-hush trial, but Judge Juan Merchan too narrowly limited the scope of what he could say, prompting Trump’s lawyers to decide not to include him.
Regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop, a new court report released this week found that agents, including Michael Morell, had active civilian contracts with the CIA and that the letter had been cleared by the CIA before publication.
Some CIA officers were concerned about the political nature of the letter.
The letter said the laptop “has all the classic hallmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Morell orchestrated the letter after a phone call from current Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He said he did it to give Biden a “talking point” ahead of the 2020 election when Trump attacked him over the laptop that was later verified as his son’s.
“The signatories’ decision to use their former titles within the intelligence community to promote a narrative of foreign election interference improperly implicated the (CIA) in domestic politics,” the Justice Department report said. The report highlights “the potential dangers of a politicized intelligence community.”

“I talked to him almost every week … he called me out of the blue the other day to say he was having dinner with a colleague of ours,” Jordan said. “I’ll probably talk to him sometime this week about the latest report we just released on the 51 former Intel officials.”
The infamous memo signed by pro-Biden officials in the run-up to the 2020 election alleged that incriminating photos and messages on Hunter Biden’s laptop bore the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.
This allowed Joe to discredit the laptop and its damning evidence during presidential debates, town halls, and other media appearances leading up to his election.
The laptop “from Hell” was originally discovered in a Delaware tech repair shop. The FBI later retrieved the device and verified its authenticity. It contained a trove of damaging photos, text messages, and emails that showed Hunter Biden trying to profit off his last name and lewd behavior.
The laptop was back in the spotlight during Hunter Biden’s recent federal weapons trial, where he was found guilty of three felonies. An FBI agent witness confirmed that the agency confirmed the authenticity of the materials on the device.
DailyMail.com led reporting on the laptop since its discovery and had independently verified it by 2021.
Several former intelligence officials reiterated their 2020 memo earlier this month, saying it was a “patriotic move” they do not regret.
