Jill Duggar claims her father Jim Bob threatened to ‘cut his kids out of their INHERITANCE’ if they dared to speak out against him and wife Michelle in an attempt to stop her from publishing her bombshell memoir

Jill Duggar has claimed dad Jim Bob threatened the entire family for speaking out against him and his wife Michelle.

The 32-year-old said her father issued a very stern warning via text message after she first announced the release of bombshell memoir Counting The Cost in May.

She said the 58-year-old threatened to take his children out of the inheritance, but Jill added she refused to back down.

The book, which details the Arkansas native’s hyper-strict upbringing in the cult-like Christian sect known as IBLP — short for Institute in Basic Life Principles — was released earlier this month.

Jill told me Today: ‘My dad texted the entire family group (since we’re still in the group thread) and he just said, “This is so sad,” and basically threatened that if anyone speaks out against him or my mom, they would be removed from the inheritance.’

The former TV star also claimed that Jim Bob suggested the Duggar family “owe their lives” to Bill Gothard – the shunned minister who founded IBLP.

Gothard, now 88, resigned from the IBLP board of directors in 2014 over allegations that he sexually harassed and abused women who worked for the organization – which he denies.

Jill said that despite her father’s reaction, she refused to part with her memoir, adding, “I almost felt a calling to write it because I felt like people were still being led astray or were harmed by the teachings my family had promoted.”

The publication of Jill’s tell-all, with husband Derick Dillard as co-author, was the final blow to the Duggar family’s long-lost, squeaky clean image as a wholesome, all-American Christian family.

In June, the explosive exposé-style documentary Shiny Happy People was released on Prime Video, exploring the family’s sensational fall from grace.

In it, Jill revealed that the Duggars were paid $18 million over the course of their 21 seasons on TV, but claimed that she and her siblings didn’t receive a cent of that during their time on the show – which ran from 2008 to 2015.

Instead, she claimed it all went into her father’s pocket.

She claimed that her father tricked her into signing a contract that forced her to continue filming against her will, and that she was given no choice but to videotape her son’s birth, despite having the production crew told her she didn’t feel comfortable with it. .

Jill explained that she was asked to sign a contract the day before her wedding to Derick, but said she never got to see the full thing, just the “signature page.”

She also broke down in tears as she revealed the extreme measures Jim Bob took to cover up brother Josh’s crimes.

In 2015, a shocking report surfaced online claiming that Josh, now 35, had admitted to abusing four of his siblings years ago and that his own parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, knew about it, but had not reported the abuse.

It was enough to completely destroy the wholesome on-screen image the family had worked so hard to build over the course of their multiple TLC reality shows.

According to Jill, when news of Josh’s alleged abuse became public that year, her father’s focus was on protecting the family’s impeccable reputation – and not on the victims.

She recalled that there was “urgency” in “trying to figure out” how the show could continue in the wake of the scandal.

Following the release of Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, Michelle and Jim Bob released a statement that read: “The recent documentary about our family is sad because it shows the media and people with malicious intent hurting the people we love.

“Like other families, ours has experienced the joys and heartbreaks of life, just in a very public way.

‘This documentary portrays so much and so much in a derogatory and sensational way, because unfortunately that is the direction of entertainment today.’
