Jill Biden tells donors ‘nothing’ can slow Joe as poll shows voter concern about his health

Jill Biden has reassured donors that “nothing” can slow Joe Biden down as a new poll shows a majority of voters continue to worry about his mental and physical health in order to run for president.

“Nothing can slow him down and now he’s ready to get the job done,” the first lady said Saturday at fundraisers in Minnesota and Tennessee, where donors donated millions of dollars to Biden’s reelection.

The president is coming off a series of stumbling blocks: he tumbled at the Air Force Academy and nearly fell in Hiroshima when he tripped on a flight of stairs earlier this month.

And a new one NBC News poll shows that voters will continue to be concerned if the 80-year-old President Biden has the stamina to remain in office for another four years.

The poll found that 68 percent are concerned that Biden does not have the “necessary mental and physical health to be president,” while 32 percent said they have few or no concerns.

In addition, it found that 60 percent are concerned about Biden “getting reelected and serving as president for four more years,” while 40 percent are not concerned.

Biden is the oldest president in US history. If elected to a second term, he would be 86 when it ends.

When the NBC poll asked if voters are concerned about former President Donald Trump’s mental and physical health, 55 percent said they were concerned, while 44 percent said they had little or no concern.

Trump turned 77 last week.

The poll was conducted from June 16 to 20 among 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

Biden has dismissed questions about his age, especially as he campaigns for a second term in the White House.

And the White House claims he has the experience and track record to get the job done.

His doctor has stated that he is healthy and fit to serve, but has admitted that the president’s gait is “stiff.” Biden has stumbled before — twice aboard Air Force One: in March 2023 and in March 2021.

But the image of Biden sprawled on stage at the Air Force Academy graduation earlier this month — and then aided by officials — renewed questions that were already there about his stamina.

The incident quickly went viral and showed Biden’s vulnerability to the age issue.

And the topic probably won’t go away any time soon.

Biden is running for a second term and will be on the campaign trail in a way he wasn’t during the 2020 campaign, when most of his events were virtual due to the COVID pandemic.

This time around, he’ll be on public display – and under more surveillance – in a number of events and settings, meaning it could be a matter of time before another trip or fall occurs.
