First Lady Jill Biden is now said to be ‘all in’ on 80-year-old Joe making another run for the White House in 2024, sources have claimed

Jill was said to be against the idea of her husband making a bid for a second term just three months ago, and is said to be ‘exhausted’ by her public schedule.

However, sources have now said that she has come around to the idea of the president running for re-election, bringing her private conversations in-line with her public level of enthusiastic support for her husband.

The shift has seemingly come in the wake of the November midterm elections, which saw the Democrats defy predictions of a Republican ‘Red Wave’ and Joe Biden have one of the most successful midterms of any sitting president.

As recently as early fall, Jill Biden was said to be mostly sceptical of the idea of a second tilt at the Oval Office. As important as her opinion is to Joe Biden, this could have potentially swayed his own feelings away from a 2024 race.

Reports suggest that she has a ‘veto’ over another Biden bid. Should she feel that the president, who turned 80 on November 20, is not up for it – or if she feels a 2024 run could damage his legacy or their family – she can call a stop to it.

She has exercised this power before, notably in 2004 and 2015, and she is understood to still be mindful of these aspects.

But according to one CNN source who works in the East Wing of the White House, Jill is now said to be ‘all in’ on the idea.

This is despite the fact she has admitted to being left ‘exhausted’ by weeks of high-profile events, another source told the news channel. ‘She has begun to say the quiet part out loud,’ they noted. Just this week, Jill admitted to this time of year is ‘not easy and ‘busy, to say the least’ at a town hall meeting the other day.

Jill has attended dozens of high-profile events recently, including the wedding on her granddaughter and the Biden administration’s first Sate Dinner. There have also been state visits to the White House, and she is planning others.

A source familiar with the family told CNN ‘she still has laryngitis’ after her voice was noticeably different this week. She had three back-to-back parties on Saturday along, the source said.

CNN also reported that Biden family conversations about a possible 2024 bid were meant to be on-track by Christmas. However, the family is not expected to be in the same place at the same time this year, making the conversation difficult.

While no official announcement has been made by Joe Biden, the West Wing has for a long time being in ‘he’s running’ mode, working on the assumption that he will make a second bid in 2024.

A senior advisor to Jill told CNN: ‘As the president has said, he intends to run for reelection and that is something both Dr. Biden and the family fully support.’

Jill is a key vote winner for Biden. She is liked in purple and red states, and is an energetic and enthusiastic supporter, and makes up a key part of his strategy.

Asked whether she was ready for the physical and mental demands another race in 2024, the Biden advisor told CNN: ‘She is ready and fully supportive.’

Joe Biden has been re-energized in recent months. The surprising Democratic midterm  performance saw the party retain control of the Senate and hold off Republicans from a massive win in the House.

Improving economic performance, the release of Brittney Griner and successful Asia summits have also been a boon for the president.

This has left him in a strong position, and Biden is telling people he now more than ever has what it takes to go up against former President Donald Trump, or whoever the GOP candidate turns out to be come 2024.

However, polls have suggested that large parts of the Democrat party’s voters might not be as keen. Results of a CNN poll on Wednesday found that 59 percent of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents would like to see someone other than Joe Biden run for office in the next election.

This was similar to the percentage on Republican-leaning voters (62 percent) who said they felt the same about Donald Trump.

That being said, when asked whether they would vote for Biden at a presidential election over a Republican candidate, the poll found a majority of Democratic-leaning voters said yes.

Another poll in November found that 71 percent of Democratic voters believe that Joe Biden could win again in 2024.
