Jill Biden appears to kiss Doug Emhoff on the LIPS before the State of the Union: Kyrsten Sinema appears in a VERY bold yellow dress and Paul Pelosi sits next to Bono at the extravagant opening of Biden’s big night

  • The first lady and first gentleman exchanged a warm greeting before the speech
  • Sinema joked that there was “no competition” for the best dressed
  • Pelosi chatted with Bono in the first lady’s box

President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address began with a sudden kiss between the first and second members of the couple and another bold fashion move by influential Senator Kyrsten Sinema.

Early fireworks opened a speech that usually turns into political lists and platitudes as the night progresses, though Tuesday night’s primetime event featured an angry back and forth between Biden and Republicans in the Camera.

Sinema made a bold entrance into the House chamber for the speech, after forcing Washington to hold its collective breath during talks on the Inflation Reduction Act, and then announcing that he had switched from Democrat to Independent.

Told by a reporter outside the Senate chamber before heading to the event that she won the night’s best dressed award, she quipped: “There’s no competition,” DailyMail.com reveals.

First Lady Jill Biden wore her own bold color and greeted first gentleman Doug Emhoff very cordially as they met in the first lady’s box on a gallery above the House floor.

They linked their arms during a greeting and their lips seemed to briefly lock during a greeting kiss.

‘Um, why did Jill Biden and Kamala Harris’s husband kiss on the lips?’ wrote a popular commentator On twitter.

Emhoff, whose wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, was sitting behind Biden and next to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, brought as a guest Ruth Cohen, a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor who survived several concentration camps, including Auschwitz.

The most prominent celebrity present was U2’s Bono, who is no stranger to the Capitol. He was a regular visitor during the George W. Bush administration as he pushed for debt relief for the developing world, and has promoted funds for AIDS and global health causes.

Before Biden spoke, he could be seen chatting with Paul Pelosi, who is still recovering from an intruder’s hammer attack on his San Francisco home.

Pelosi wore a black hat, as she has done at other public events following her hospitalization for the attack, where the suspect lunged at her head.

During their first few interactions, Pelosi appeared to be vibrant, gesturing and talking much of the time while the rock star listened.
