Jeweler reveals the ‘foolproof’ ways to make sure that your necklace chains NEVER tangle

A top New York City fine jewelry designer has revealed two “fail-safe” ways to ensure your necklaces don’t get tangled when worn together.

The insight was shared in a new TikTok video created by Stephanie Gottlieb, the founder and creative director of the eponymous jewelry brand Stephanie Gottlieb fine jewelry.

Her pieces have been worn by several celebrities and influencers, including Britney Spears, Bethenny Frankel and Summer House star Paige DeSorbo.

In the clip, Gottlieb explained the rules to follow when layering your necklaces.

“Rule number one: make sure you have different necklace styles,” Gottlieb began the video.

Gottlieb herself wore three different necklaces of different lengths in the video, which she pointed out.

“So you can see here that I have a beaded necklace, a rolo, and a large oval link,” the expert explained, showing off the different types of necklaces she had around her neck.

Her second rule had to do with the length between the chains.

“Rule number two is to make sure there is at least two inches of space between the chains,” the jeweler explained.

Gottlieb’s three chains were all different lengths.

“So here I am wearing 15 inches, 18 (inches) and 20 (inches),” she explained.

‘Follow these two rules and you’re good to go!’ Gottlieb concluded.

In another video posted on her TikTok Early last year, the luxury jeweler also revealed how she travels with her jewelry and how she organizes everything at home.

She gave specific advice when it came to organizing chains.

Gottlieb explained that when she travels, she will use small, plastic jewelry bags to fit the excess that doesn’t fit in her portable jewelry box.

When packing chains in the plastic bags, she said she would always clasp them to avoid confusion.

“I always put it in the bag, but leave the end out,” she said of the necklaces.

In her jewelry box that she takes with her on vacation, she lays the necklaces completely flat and separated from each other to avoid confusion.

“I find that the easier it is to see my pieces, the more likely I am to pick them out and wear them,” she said.

“When I run out of space, which I already have, I put things in bags.”

In another video previously posted to Gottlieb's TikTok, she shared how she organizes and packs her jewelry, including what she does when it comes to her necklaces.

Gottlieb also noted that she has lined drawers to store some of her jewelry so that certain pieces are “accessible.”

In 2022, a wedding photographer, Samantha Sickels, also offered a simple hack to ensure your necklace stays securely around your neck and doesn’t move.

She ordered to dab the back of the chain with some eyelash glue to keep it in place.

Sickels explained that this prevents the chain lock from sliding forward.
