Jetstar flight is forced to make unexpected landing at Sydney midway through journey
A Jetstar aircraft was forced to land unexpectedly mid-flight due to an electrical problem.
The Airbus A321-200 was en route from Cairns, Queensland to Melbourne when the plane developed electrical problems on Wednesday.
About 45 minutes later, the Jetstar plane landed safely in Sydney.
Passengers on the flight were given a replacement Airbus A321-200, but reached Melbourne with a delay of more than eight hours.
The plane that had to be diverted was able to carry passengers again five and a half hours after landing in Sydney.
It is believed that the aircraft suffered from an ‘ELEC AC BUS 2’ failure.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Jetstar for comment.
