Woman shocked after Jetstar canceled her Perth-Adelaide flight five hours before the trip and rescheduled with an 11 HOUR plane ride

  • Perth woman Claire Bagot was going to fly to Adelaide
  • His Jetstar flight was canceled five hours before takeoff.
  • They offered him an 11 hour flight and nine hours later.

One woman criticized Jetstar for canceling her short flight just hours before takeoff and then offering her alternative flights that would take half a day to reach her destination.

Perth woman Claire Bagot uploaded a video to TikTok with her flight details while calling the budget airline.

He explained that he had booked a flight from Perth to Adelaide, which is usually a three-hour journey, but Jetstar canceled it just five hours before departure.

“If anyone wants to tell me how Jetstar is still in business, I’d love to,” he began.

Jetstar canceled her three-hour flight to Adelaide to the Perth woman’s Claire Bagot (pictured) just hours before takeoff and was offered an alternate 11-hour journey instead.

‘My flight was canceled five hours before, beautiful. These are the two replacement flight options I got.’

Ms Bagot pointed out the two alternative flights, which leave Perth airport at 5:35pm and 10:45pm

The first option was an 11-hour, 15-minute journey with two flights, while the other was a nine-hour, 50-minute journey that also required two flights.

“Eleven hours and 15 minutes or nine hours and 50 for a normal three-hour flight,” he added.

‘That’s what I want to do, and the day I’m supposed to arrive hasn’t even come yet.’

Viewers of Ms Bagot’s post also criticized the budget airline for flight cancellations, delays and poor service.

‘Why is Jetstar so scary who runs it?’ wrote one.

Another said: ‘We had the exact same experience! And you have to collect your luggage and check it AGAIN during your layover.’

‘They canceled our GC>PER flights and gave us a lovely 8 hour layover at MEL. At midnight. With a small child,” added a third.

One woman suggested flying with Rex as it is ‘cheaper’ and ‘better’.

But other TikTok users believed Ms. Bagot shouldn’t be complaining, suggesting that passengers had to hope they didn’t put too much trust in Jetstar because of its low airfares.

‘It happens with all Australian airlines. You can just say you don’t want either and you’ll get a credit or a refund and be able to rebook a working flight,” said one.

“They literally have no control over most of these,” a second commented.

One viewer wrote: ‘People need to realize that their unreliability is the reason [it’s] a low budget airline. As if it would never be reliable.

A Jetstar spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: “We are very sorry that Claire’s flight from Perth to Adelaide had to be canceled last week and the inconvenience this caused.”

“We do our best to avoid interruptions, but unfortunately sometimes there is no other option”

“Passengers were given the option to rebook on the next available flight, which due to limited availability included both direct and indirect services, or they could opt for a refund. After being notified of the cancellation, Claire agreed to a refund.’

Jetstar explained that Ms. Bagot’s flight had been canceled due to crew illness and no other staff were available at the time.
