The New York Jets will rekindle their interest in Davante Adams this offseason after failing to lure him away from the Las Vegas Raiders last month.

Earlier this month, it emerged that the Jets attempted to trade for Adams before the Oct. 31 deadline, but the Raiders rebuffed their move and retained the six-time Pro Bowler.

New York’s front office had its sights set on reuniting the receiver with legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom he enjoyed great success during their seven years together in Green Bay.

However, a source told ESPN that there was “no chance” the Raiders would let him leave.

Still, it appears the Jets aren’t willing to take no for an answer ESPN are now reporting that they will pursue a trade for Adams again this offseason.

“That will happen,” one source predicted. ‘I think so.’

It is believed that the Jets’ chances of trading Adams from the Raiders will depend on how Las Vegas finishes the current season.

The organization has won two straight games, including last weekend against the Jets, since hiring Antonio Pierce as interim head coach following the departure of Josh McDaniels.

Should they continue to show signs of progress, Adams could be persuaded to remain in Las Vegas, where he has enjoyed living in recent years.

But if Pierce’s early success as interim head coach fades, a reunion with Rodgers in New York could become a lot more attractive.

The pair briefly reunited last week for their respective teams’ Week 10 meeting, which saw the Raiders gain the upper hand.

Rodgers and Adams used the match as an opportunity to meet, with the latter posting a photo of them on his Instagram story.

The quarterback smiled softly as Adams took a selfie of the two of them.

Rodgers, 39, continues to rehabilitate a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in Week 1 of the regular season against the Bills.

However, he relapsed late last month while pitching ahead of the Jets-Giants game and has made no secret of his goal to make a sensational return from injury this season.

The Jets are 4-5 with Zach Wilson at the helm, replacing Rodgers.

The Raiders, meanwhile, are 5-5 and adjusting to a midseason coaching change after McDaniels was fired.
