New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has revealed that he congratulated former teammate and Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love on beating the Chicago Bears.
“I congratulate you on keeping ownership,” Rodgers said with a smile while appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “That was pretty great for him.”
Rodgers compiled a 24-5 record against the Bears during his 15 seasons as Packers QB, and after scoring a go-ahead touchdown against them in 2021, he famously shouted “I still own you” to their fans.
In addition to mocking his old rival, Rodgers has also begun rehabbing the torn Achilles tendon he suffered just four times during his Jets debut in Week 1 of Monday Night Football.
Recent reports have stated that he may even pursue an unlikely return to the playoffs after undergoing a relatively new process known as a ‘velocity bridge’.

The procedure was performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who also operated on Kobe Bryant’s torn Achilles tendon in 2013 and saw the legendary Laker return to court within eight months.
Rodgers also provided an update on his recovery, stating that although the cast has been removed from his left ankle, he still requires a running shoe and cannot yet walk on this leg.
“Trying to come out is kind of the next goal, so I feel the strength to stand up on my own,” Rodgers said.
‘Then the boot comes off and then it gets exciting. I think it makes you feel like you’re not just some big turd, with everyone taking care of you. So that will be fun.”
Jets head coach Robert Saleh recently indicated that the team hopes Rodgers can return to Florham Park and be with the team next week once he can walk again.
Rodgers also appeared to take a step back from his original statements hinting at a return for the playoffs.

“I don’t want to get caught up in a timeline,” Rodgers said. ‘I just want to get healthy, honestly, mentally and physically, honestly.
‘But I will do everything I can to recuperate, so that at some point I will be ready to play football again. And that’s the goal.
“I mean, when this happened, there’s obviously a lot of thoughts about, ‘That’s it, cash it in, you’re done.’ I just feel like I’m not, so I’m going to put myself in position to play again.”
