Jets fans didn’t even get a chance to see Aaron Rodgers throw more than one fumble as they vented their frustrations over their quarterback’s season-ending injury on social media just a day after he tore his Achilles tendon against the Bills.
After the Jets defense got a stop on Josh Allen and Co. to gain possession, Rodgers went down on New York’s third play of the night after a tackle by Leonard Floyd, a linebacker for Buffalo.
The Jets listed the 39-year-old as questionable to return with an ankle injury, but things didn’t look good as Rodgers left the MetLife Stadium field on a cart to head to the sideline.
Rodgers’ injury forced Zach Wilson to play under center and the 24-year-old proved he has learned a tremendous amount under his new mentor since last season, when he completed 14 of his 21 passing attempts for 140 yards and a TD. in the Jets’ 22–16 comeback victory.
Needless to say, Jets fans had plenty to talk about after New York’s unfortunate start to the 2023-2024 season.

The Jets, who are now certainly on the hunt for veteran quarterbacks, have five days to add a third field general to their roster before taking on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, September 17 in Texas.
It remains to be seen who they will follow, but for now the only ones who have a ticket to go south are Wilson, who is in his third NFL season, and Tim Boyle – a practice squad quarterback.
Free agents Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco have been linked to short-term, one-year deals with the Jets.
