Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner blasts media for continuing to talk about his remark that some deemed anti-Semitic… with the star apologizing but complaining that ‘It’s gotten more attention AFTER I cleared it up’

A day after trying to clarify comments that some deemed anti-Semitic, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner seems surprised that it’s still being talked about in the media.

Gardner appeared in a livestream with YouTuber Adin Ross, who is Jewish. On that stream, the cornerback says, “I’ll be honest, like no crazy weird stuff, you guys rule the world.”

After receiving backlash, Gardner apologized, saying in a Twitter post, “I love all people. Although my intentions were positive, I just learned that people are using the exact words I shared out of hatred for Jewish people.”

“That is not what I stand for and I appreciate those who took the time to inform me about that.”

But a day after issuing that apology, Gardner took to Twitter again, seemingly surprised that there were still discussions about that comment.

The next day, Gardner seemed shocked that people were paying so much attention to the comments

“We really live in a world where if you clarify something, the media tries to keep it from dying out and/or blows it up even more, lol,” the cornerback said.

“It got more attention AFTER I cleaned it up yesterday, which is weird and I wasn’t forced to post anything; it was on my heart to do that.”

The comments under Gardner’s most recent post included people supporting him. But others said they only heard about his comments because he posted the apology in the first place.

It should be noted that Ross didn’t seem to have any negative reaction to the comment at the time — and even laughed along with the others in the room who were on stream.

After raising that laugh, the NFL star added, “They have so much movement around the world. You should all see how they walk in the airport.”

Some of the comments encouraged Gardner to be canceled, calling him an anti-Semite, and other similar negative comments.
