Jet-setter Cara Delevingne launches new eco-warrior project

Cara Delevingne has launched a new eco-warrior project “to teach people how to help the planet” – only to immediately draw attention to her own jet-set lifestyle.

The British model, 30, gets involved with Earthed, which was created to educate people about ways they can reduce their impact on the environment.

But putting what she preaches into practice will involve some dramatic changes in her own lifestyle, which saw her take at least a dozen trips in the past year alone.

This includes vacations to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Aspen, Colorado; and the Balearic Island of Formentera and Ibiza. She has also flown to industry events in Mumbai, Cannes, Los Angeles, New York, Portafino, Italy and her hometown of London.

Ms. Delavigne is taking part in another green campaign, ‘EcoResolution’, along with Kim Kardashian, Rita Ora, Jaden and Willow Smith, Karlie Kloss, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Jack Black.

Jack Black reveals his intention is to stop eating red meat, while Kardashian — who owns a $2.1 million fleet of supercars — says she only eats plant-based foods.

In a video introducing the initiative, Ms Delavigne says: ‘Climate and ecological collapse are happening right now.

“I’m committed to making positive changes in my daily life, reducing my consumption, mitigating catastrophic climate change, and supporting my mental health.”

Ms. Delevingne’s last vacation was to the resort town of Cabo San Lucas in Mexico with her friend Minke.

The couple was seen strolling through the Cabo airport, with jet-setter Cara well prepared for the flight with her pillow in hand.

Even glitzier was her 30th birthday last year in Spain, where she went on a lavish yacht trip with a plethora of A-list friends.

Ms Delevingne was in good company as one of her celebrity friends on the trip was Sienna Miller, 41, who looked fabulous in a brown bikini, while Margot Robbie, 32, was spotted cooling off amid a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean.

The birthday girl seemed to be having a great time as she smeared icing on her lips and tried to rub it playfully on her friend Adwoa Aboah.

Ms Delevingne was seen with part of the group in Ibiza a week later as the lively celebrations came to an end.

Earthed is funded in part by user donations, but is free for those who can’t afford it.

Ms. Delevingne first started her charity work with Initiative Earth in April 2021 and hopes to officially launch her new platform next month.

A source told The Sun: ‘Cara is extremely passionate about this project and she’s excited about the launch of Earthed.

“She helped set up a platform with her charity, Initiative Earth, of which she is a trustee.

Earthed will feature lectures from well-known figures in the natural world and will bring communities together.

“Cara made sure to cover everything from growing vegetables to helping people understand what they can do to make a difference.”

Ms Delevingne flew to Mumbai last month for the Dior Fall 2023 show.

The model put on a leggy show in the chic printed dress as she attended the chic fashion show.

Ms Delevingne turned heads in a bold satin kimono top worn over a cream collared shirt for the event at the heritage-listed Gateway of India.

She showed off her edgy sense of style in the ensemble which was complemented by a choker and quirky eye makeup.

Ms Delevingne grew up in West London but now splits her time between the UK and America.

She recently opened the doors to her quirky Mad Hatter-inspired home in Los Angeles, revealing an array of off-the-wall decor, from a ball pit to a pink “vagina tunnel.”

Welcoming cameras into her “adult playhouse,” she revealed that her home includes a “pink p****y palace” with a swing and stripper pole, as well as a secret passageway made in the style of a woman’s genitals.

The model showcased her home’s unique features in a video for Architectural Digest, taking viewers through an Alice in Wonderland-inspired home.

The house was designed with Line Architecture architect Nicolò Bini, who describes Cara as the Mad Hatter for her Alice in Wonderland.

It’s full of color, pattern — and a vaginal tunnel, which the magazine describes as “a secret passage hidden behind a low, painted panel, leading from the living room to an adjoining bunk room.”

Tucked away behind a mirrored door in the living room, the tunnel has a pink cushion on the inside of the door and almost closed pink curtains on either side. Between the fabric are darker pink feathers, as well as a drooping white ball seemingly meant to represent the clitoris.

Today isn’t the first time Ms. Delevingne’s travel habits have raised eyebrows.

In 2016, she took a holiday to the Maldives resort of Finolhu Baa Atoll with her sister Poppy and 160 of their friends — in exchange for posing pictures of the freebie on social media.

But the hundreds of images that emerged from the sun-drenched break sparked resentment and jealousy from those left behind in chilly Britain, sparking a series of sarcastic, rude and downright annoyed responses.

Stylist Grace Woodward told Delevingne’s PR friend Dean Piper, “You’re being blocked,” so she doesn’t have to see any more footage.

TV producer Luke Alkin wrote ‘Intolerable. Absolutely unbearable” below an image of a topless friend, while another follower joked, “Looks rubbish.”

The group of models, It Girls and hangers-on spent their week partying with no fewer than five costumed shindigs, each sparking another wave of social media activity.

The alcohol flowed freely, with pina coladas the cocktail of the week. And there was no shortage of bubbly, as several of the 136 villas were set up with a ‘champagne hotline’ – a phone where each number on the keypad ordered a different brand, including a £550 bottle of Cristal. But that had to be paid for.

Among the guests, who shared more than 600 photos, were model Arizona Muse, Kate Moss’ makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, Helena Bonham Carter’s niece Rose, Ray Winstone’s actress daughter Jaime and Bryan Ferry’s ex-wife Amanda Sheppard.
