The Should Have Known Better star opened up about her mental health struggles in an emotional note posted on Instagram, admitting she spent several years suffering as her confidence and self-esteem plummeted as she struggled with her ‘body image’.

I want to share this because I think I got to a place where I was trying to hide my vulnerabilities because if I made everything look great all the time, it would hide my inner struggles.
She added: ‘I have a very blessed life with healthy children and an amazing rock loving husband. But I’ve definitely struggled these last two years. My anxiety has worsened, my self esteem, my confidence. It’s been a bit worse lately where I just break down and cry. I’ve been struggling with some body image issues and…probably always have.’
Jessie went on to explain that she’s been through some “family issues” and struggled with internet trolling during that difficult time, and it was so bad that she considered quitting music.
She wrote: “I am constantly torn apart on a daily basis which kills me a little every day and makes me wonder what my purpose is in this business and honestly makes me consider giving it all up sometimes and disappearing.”
The singer also revealed that she had to cancel a tour after contracting COVID-19 sent her into another spiral of depression.

However, Jessie concluded by insisting that she wanted to share her problems in the hope that being honest would help her ‘heal from this’.
