Jessica Simpson SLAMMED for letting daughter Maxwell, 11, pose in a crop-top for Instagram snaps: ‘Why are you letting your child dress like a 20-year old?!’

Jessica Simpson has been criticized online for posting a photo of her daughter Maxwell, 11, posing in a crop top.

The 43-year-old singer raised eyebrows when she shared a photo of herself and her eldest child on their way to kick off a dog park competition last week, in which Maxwell wore a denim crop top and matching skirt, along with a full face of makeup.

The youngster’s appearance drew fierce criticism online – with fans on Instagram berating Jessica for “letting her 11-year-old kid dress like a 20-year-old.”

One wrote: ‘Why on earth would you let your child dress like that, it baffles me!!!’

Another typed, “Who lets their 11-year-old child out of the house dressed like that?” Too busy trying to be her underage daughter’s best friend instead of being a responsible parent.

“After years of complaining about being oversexualized as a young adult and the criticism she faced, she is now making sure her daughter will have the same experience, rather than protecting her from it. Embarrassing and incredibly sad. Poor Maxwell.’

Others wrote, “Why are you letting your eleven-year-old dress like a twenty-year-old? They grow up fast enough – let her be a CHILD. Or have you already forgotten what it can do to a young girl when you grow up and are sexy?

In addition to Maxwell, Jessica shares 10-year-old son Ace and four-year-old daughter Birdie with husband Eric Johnson, 44.

Jessica recently admitted that the fascination surrounding her weight is still baffling.

“I think it just doesn’t have to be a conversation,” she said Access to Hollywood.

Despite feeling frustrated at times with the comments, the Open Book author pointed out the benefit of being an “all size” woman while designing for her clothing brand.

“Honestly, it’s been a beautiful thing for the Jessica Simpson collection,” she said. “I understand every body and every woman and their mentality and how valuable they are to fashion and style, and that comes naturally to me.”

While raising three kids with husband Eric Johnson, the I Wanna Love You Forever singer explained that she reminds her kids “not to dress for anyone else.”

She advises her little ones not to “look like someone else” or be “a different size.”

Speaking of her eldest, Maxwell ‘Maxi’ Drew, 11, Simpson recalled her young teen asking if she should be “insecure” about being the “tallest in her class.”

She remembers telling her little girl, “The fact that you’re asking me if you should be insecure means absolutely no!”

In addition, the mother of three revealed that she tries not to diet or complain about her body in front of them.

“They just see me living a healthy lifestyle,” she explained, noting that she also “quit drinking” to make sure she was a “good role model.”
