Jessica Chastain showed her support for the SAG-AFTRA strikes during the Venice Film Festival by wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the protest’s logo.
The Interstellar star, 46, was spotted wearing the T-shirt at the 80th annual festival on Friday, attending safely in the knowledge she wasn’t crossing the picket line.
This year, only a handful of independent productions have been allowed to be promoted by their stars, including Jessica, who is on hand to plug her film Memory, and Ferrari actor Adam Driver.

The action has brought the industry to a virtual standstill, forcing many film and TV productions to close, and marks the first time in more than 60 years that both actors and writers have gone on strike.
The strike has been going on since early May.
Under strike rules, all Sag-aftra members will be unable to film any movies or TV series – meaning almost every show and movie currently in the works will be postponed indefinitely until the issue is resolved.
British union Equity, Sag-aftra’s sister organization, said in a statement that it “fully supports” its American counterpart.
British actors including Brian Cox, Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis were also among those supporting the US strike here.
