Jessica Alba’s father breaks down in tears as she buys and renovates his childhood home in emotional video
Jessica Alba brought her father to tears when she bought him his childhood home.
The 43-year-old tycoon, who is promoting her Honest Renovations series, went her YouTube channel to share the first part of her web series in which she surprises her parents with a new house.
At the end of the 10-minute clip, Jessica took her father to the construction site where his parents lived, and explained that she had purchased the property and was renovating it for him and his wife Catherine Jensen.
Mark was emotional as he hugged his daughter and the construction workers before sitting down and bursting into tears.
Jessica told him, “Now the house you grew up in is yours, Dad.”

Of his father and Jessica’s grandfather, Mark said, “He would be so proud of you, Jessica.”
Earlier in the episode, Jessica explained that one of the biggest motivations for her to take on this project was to honor her grandfather’s legacy.
She said, “Even though Grandpa passed away, this house is still an inheritance. I tried to bring Grandpa back into the house.”
Jessica later said that the house symbolized that her grandfather had “made it” and would give his children opportunities that he himself did not have.
She explained that her grandfather had recently passed away and that the family had to sell the house due to her grandmother’s medical bills, but Jessica saw an opportunity to buy it for her parents and surprise them.
Before the big surprise, Jessica and her father were given a tour of the house.
Mark explained: ‘This is the house where I grew up from 1972 until I met this and got married. I even, I think I had sex there.’
Jessica was completely shocked by the comment before they even finished a tour of the house.

Jessica was joined for the YouTube series by her best friend and Honest Renovations co-host, Lizzy Mathis.
The two even helped demolish the house, taking out the sledgehammer to destroy the inside of the house.
Jessica appears to have a little more time on her hands now, as in April the star announced that she would be stepping down as Chief Creative Officer at The Honest Company.
After taking on a leadership role and founding the company 12 years ago, the actress said she will be stepping down but will continue to provide “strategic advice through her role on the board.”
In a statement on Instagram at the time, Alba shared photos of throwbacks over the years, alongside inspirational quotes from Eleanor Roosevelt.
The Honey star shared a carousel of photos, culminating in a vintage snap of herself in a warehouse, sitting on pallets of boxes, from when she first launched her business in 2011.
She also shared a photo of herself speaking on stage at the Nasdaq Marketplace in New York City on May 5, 2021.

Jessica recently told the Today Show that she’s been “re-potting” herself after stepping down.
She explained that she is still part of the company, but that this is also a new beginning for her. She said, “And for me, this is just a new phase.”
“I feel like I’m being reborn into my next phase of life. I started a production company. The first film I produced, Trigger Warning, debuted on Netflix as number one in so many countries. I was so excited.”
Jessica currently stars in Honest Renovations season 2, which is currently available to stream for free on the Roku app.
