Jessica Alba has been happily married to her husband Cash Warren for sixteen years, and looking back on their history together, the actress said before her, it’s all about making the right choice.

The 43-year-old actress, who looked stunning at the premiere of her new film Trigger Warning, explained her philosophy in an interview with People.

“It’s something you really have to make a choice about,” she argued.

‘You really have to find time to make time for each other.’

Alba met Warren, 45, when both were working on the set of 2005’s The Fantastic Four and married in a simple courthouse ceremony in May 2008, a month before welcoming their eldest child, Honor, 16, into their family.

They have since added Haven, almost 13, and Hayes, six, who keep their parents busy.

“It is what it is to go through the day-to-day, but it’s important to just know that we have to prioritize, and take those moments to see each other and giggle and not be on the phone and just to be real. connect,” she explained.

“Every time the tide goes out, we just look around and think, ‘Actually, at worst, I’m still better off with you,’” she claimed.

“You have to look up and say, ‘Would my life be better if we weren’t together?’ And every time it’s, “No.” We’re friends, you know?’

As her children get older, spending time as a family is also crucial.

“We went to Monster Jam and the girls and I were out of our element, but Hayes was so excited to show us everything. He knew all the cars, drivers and stats,” the LA’s Finest star revealed.

“For this six-year-old guy, who we almost always bring into our environment, to feel so confident was the cutest thing ever.”

In a recent interview with Trever Noah about his What now? podcast, the actress and entrepreneur said it took a few years for her to feel confident as a business owner.

In a sneak peek of the conversation on The Honest Company founder’s Instagram page, she revealed, “It took me probably three years after founding Honest for me to really embrace the idea that I could be smart.”

“I gave my co-founders, who I appointed and pitched to them, the idea, but I credit them with finding me,” she said.

“I haven’t actively changed that story for a long time.”

When asked what advice she would give to her younger self, the action star replied without hesitation, “Stop looking to men for validation.”

Alba turned in a stellar role for her latest project, Trigger Warning, as a woman who wants to use her Special Forces training to find out what really led to her father’s sudden death.

The action-adventure debuts on Netflix on June 21.
