She spoke about how she had an “aggressive mindset” early in her career, saying she was probably trying to “defend myself from predators, being a young woman and knowing that people at any moment can take advantage of you.”

It doesn’t even matter that it’s Hollywood, it’s anywhere in society, but with the Hollywood layer on top of that, it bred toxic masculinity and behavior. I think my defense against that was to get ahead and be more aggressive so they wouldn’t even try.

“I think I disconnected from my femininity and felt like I was committing myself, and I think a lot of my interviews reflect that.”

Alba also recalled how angry she got when other people shared doubts about her future success.

“They told me from the beginning that everyone thinks they’re going to give you a hand on the ass, and that you’re going to fail, and they’re waiting for you to fail,” he said. ‘I was like, ‘Fuck that! I won’t do it! I was very intense, but I went in with the mentality that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.’

He also said in July that he is going to therapy with his two daughters.

The actress has daughters Honor, 14 and Haven, 10, and son Hayes, four with husband Cash Warren and believes going to family therapy makes her a better mother.

Speaking to Glamor UK, she said: ‘I went with both of them. And around puberty is when that’s the time that I think, for me, with my daughters. That’s when they started shutting down and saying, “I don’t want to talk anymore.” And I’m like, “We’re not going to do this. We have to maintain a line of communication here. How can I be a better father to you? How do you want me to talk to you? Shut up.” Get me out.”‘

‘First of all, this person [the therapist] have studied human behavior and are good at it. And they don’t have any relationship with you, so they can be really objective and you create a safe space for your child to tell you candidly what isn’t working in their parenting. I was like, “Look, I’m not perfect. I’m not going to know all the answers, but I want to be a great dad to you. And what you like and what you don’t like is different than what your sister likes.” and he does not like it. And I will make mistakes. Here is a safe space, you can’t get into trouble, tell me what I’m doing wrong, or what you would like me to do differently. Or how do you want me to punish you when you screw up? How does that look to you? And how would you like to be treated so that you can feel that you have your dignity intact?”
